Incoming Fireworks Tonight (2 PM Rolexes!!!)

Hey Everyone, its been almost 2 years since I was going crazy buying watches.
Cars have been consuming me more, but the Rolex virus has reawakened...

So to kick off the Summer, I have TWO Rolex Heavy-Hitting PM Incomings Tonight.
Thanks To David SW my "go to" Rolex binging "dealer"

It should be noted I spent a long time at David's Boutique trying on all the latest cool Rolex Releases AND some classics I never really looked at.
One thing was for sure, I was hellbent on getting two watches tonight.

Ok Drum Roll, Tonights Two Lucky Winners, or should I say lucky me

***WINNERS***
- WG Daytona with Blue Dial -
The Beautiful Sunburst Blue Dial is Really Something To Behold and Reminds me of the SS YM blue dial,
but adorned with a Lustrous White Gold Casing that takes it into the realm of the Sublime.
This watch has been on my mind a long time and has evaded ADs every time I have gone.
Even next to the DD40 Platinum, I like it better (surprisingly). Also more comfortable.

Full RG CHNR - This I saw first at AD while strongly considering YG Daytona w/ Black Pearl Dial.
I was very intrigued but it took a second look to really appreciate its beauty.
This is easily the nicest full RG bracelet I have seen on any Rolex IMHO. What's not to love?
It is just such a perfect combination of colors and metals, that brings a fresh new look and modern
feel to an all time Rolex Classic Root Beer - I am "floating" with glee.

Can you guess the car...LOL

2019-05-24_23-42-22.jpg

For those that are interested.

These were the watches Under Consideration Going In (Does not mean I may not get them later, just not tonight...LOL).
X Ruled Out the YG Daytona w/ Black Pearl a couple days ago (see previous post).
Thought I wanted it, but a second take made me reconsider. Who would have thought, that consensus TRF advice was correct on this one...
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=676480

X Ruled Out Richard Mille RM 029 -
Only RM I can currently afford (that I want). This was close, but just something keeps holding me back from RM. Someday, I am sure I'll have one.
Problem is the REALLY cool ones are "starting" at $150K (RM 030 is good but too close to 029 for a lot more at market value).

X 42mm WG YM on Oysterflex -
Going into tonight David said he had one, and I thought this was a sure thing.
I tried it on my 6-1/2 inch wrist and it did not fit right. NEXT to it was the 40mm RG YM.
RG I have been close to buying a dozen times and liked more - Comfort and Looks.
WG YM on Oysterflex is a watch that is great in theory, but on my small wrist, just
lacked comfort. Cool Watch though!!

X Platinum DD 40 w/ Ice Blue Quadrant Motif & Deconstructed Roman Numerals -
I know , I know, I should have loved it.
I kinda did, but compared to the WG Daytona, it was less comfortable to wear and just lacked the sportiness I love in Rolex
(I have yet to get a DD after going up and down the whole lineup).
I have seen this before, but never really carefully looked at it, wore it and considered to buy.
Platona of course always gets a look, but also uncomfortable.

X WG Pepsi with Meteorite Dial -
Ok this was very nice. The WG Pepsi is one of my all time favorite watches.
Having a SS Pepsi, I definitely DID miss the WG feel, look and luster of my lost but not forgotten WG Pepsi (w/Black dial).
But the Meteor dial was just pushing me away for unknown reasons...
It is definitely beautiful, but not sure it fits in the Pepsi motif.

X DD RG w/ Chocolate and Green Dial -
These I have looked at before and very nice. Just not liking Olive color as much as I once did.
Chocolate a little nicer but not enough. And don't like the lack of easy adjustments I am so spolied with on Rolex sport watches..
My wrist is strange in how it changes sizes...LOl

If you want a PM Daytona, I think it's the nicest, second only to Platona, but more comfortable on the wrist and wallet

That's an amazing way to kick off the summer! I am surprised the 40mm RG YM did not fit your 6.5" wrist well. On my 6.75" it is perfect. Unless you only tried the 42mm WG?

Huge congratulations Bryant!

There is nothing quite as satisfying as watch retail therapy and the anticipation that goes with it.

I tried on that WG beauty on Thu night and so very nearly pulled the trigger, The Daytona blue dial is a special special watch and you may just have persuaded me to go back to my AD.

Even though it's subtle and under the radar I think the WG on those centre links shines through, and that blue dial is to die for......

Big big congrats to you - wish I was in your situation to get these 2 big boys at the same time.

BTW you made the right choice in not getting an RM.

Rm is overhyped at the moment. But the rolexes are classic. Especially that chnr. I was never a big fan of Daytona’s so I probably wouldn’t of gotten that for myself. But def want to get the full rg chnr. It’ll compliment. My yg sub perfectly

You’ve got IMO the best looking Daytona made. Also, the PM Root Beer is gorgeous too. An embarrassment of riches. Hahaha. Congrats to you.

Hey Bryant, haven't seen you post here in a while! Nice to see you are back with a big, illustrious BANG! Congrats my friend, the Blue daytona will look great with the Bentley, and the CHNR in full rose is stellar.

Playing tricks on my eyes. Looks like you have a 44mm Sub next to a 40mm YG.

Nice combo, btw!!
