Oysterdate 6694
I recently picked up this vintage 6694 from 1969 and the local watchmaker was very rude, when I asked him to open it just to see condition of the movement. He quicky looked at it, said that the it is a redial, hands were not original. He said that if the watch is keeping a good time, just to leave it rather to charge me $70 to open it. Again very rude and will probably take it to my watchmaker.
It has been polished which is the case because it looks very nice, it keeps very good time If somebody that is very knowledgeable can tell me first impressions of it until I get to see the movement. Thanks! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

Congrats! I think it looks very nice, although I do think the bracelet is later than the watch. There's been a lot of debate on this forum regarding yellow gold hands and indices on all-stainless watches but this is a very common configuration for the era in which it was made. IWCs from that time are MOSTLY SS with yellow gold indices and hands. Enjoy that beautiful 6694!

The bracelet is 7835 19. I can see that it was used on 1501 as well.

I think the dial is likely later as I seem to recall those marked T-Swiss-T are from the 80/90s period. I think the bracelet is OK although perhaps a new clasp has been fitted (if you look at the blades within the clasp you should see a date code). I think the movement should be a 1225 but I am no expert. I have a 6494 from the late 50s which also has the T-Swiss-T dial and a replacement bracelet. It has just been serviced by RSC and runs great. Looks to me like you have made a good purchase and i hope you enjoy the watch for many years to come.

It's 'T Swiss Made T' that is mid 80's/90's.
'T Swiss T' is correct for late 60's-early 80's. |

Pictures aren't great for assessing the dial but it doesn't look refinished to me.

Looks good to me. If the guy's comments are any reflection of his abilities, you're probably better off not letting him try and open it.
