1. Platinum DD
2. Lange
3. DJ
4. BP

I feel that covers just about all your bases with some pretty impressive pieces. Nice taste by the way, you have some really neat pieces!

I think I’m making progress. I agree with many of you that the DJ was a distraction and holding things back. Since it’s not going away, but also not being worn regularly, I’ve pulled it out. I also pulled the Sub.

I will be adding another Patek or Lange on a strap, which will bring the normal rotation up to seven watches.

The question now is: stop there, or trim 1-2 more pieces from the collection? New pic....
Hell of a group. If you want to be ruthless and trim further - I'd move the YG DD first then the Blancpain, though I like the diversity this provides.

My vote is to pick up a Dato!

I think from here you can safely let go of the YG DD. You've got the 15202 for the all gold (and i like the bracelet better on the 15202), and if you are looking for a DD specifically, I prefer the platinum one. So i'd go ahead and knock off the YG DD.

Might move the BP as well. But I'd replace it with another SS watch. Just not crazy about the date at 4:30. Maybe just a simple SS sub 114060 - which you can keep on a rubber B or everest or even oysterflex if you want to go that route.

Odd as it seems, I’m not a huge Sub fan. If I replaced the FF with another SS, it would probably be for an Aquanaut.

Excluded 3:

DD YG
SUB TT
A. Lange.

AP i would sell to buy PP 5711R. Blancpain FF need to keep - it is better than Submariner SS.

You know, at first I agreed with that, but then I thought the YG DD was the better watch to keep. Both of his other gold watches are RG, which would leave zero YG. Also, idk about two watches with ice blue dials.

Definitely this. Those 3 watches are simply outstanding and if I owned them I couldn’t imagine letting them go. Fantastic collection

If it were me, I'd keep the following:

DD Platinum
Daytona Platinum
AP Royal Oak
Blancpain FF

edit: whoops, just saw the update. I'd probably lose the WG DD and grab that strap watch you want to keep it to 6.

I’d keep
Lange
Platona
AP
Blancpain

and the DJ but not counting as part of collection.

Which 3-4 watches would you eliminate here? The DJ stays, as it’s part of a matching set with my wife. The Sub currently gets the least wear by a very large margin.

Thanks for your suggestions...

Gold dd
Blancpain
Tt sub

This balances 1 ss 2 gold 2 platinum

I would keep:
- 15202
- Platona
- ALS
- 50 Fathoms

You have all the bases covered there, hard to see the DD go, but...

Not sure what I would add though, perhaps a complicated Patek and be done with it.

I’m currently about to do the same thing, and go from 8 to 4 - kind of! I’m going to put four in the safe as they aren’t getting any wrist time, but I like them too much to say goodbye, so going to see how I feel about them in 12 months time.

Being locked away are the Sea Dweller 116600, the BLRO, the Microtimer, and the Reverso. Staying for wrist rotation are the Nautilus 5990, Royal Oak Offshore Diver, Daytona LN, and the Speedmaster.

Four is a good number.
off-topic. 116600 is the watch I've had second longest in my collection but still not bonded with it due to poor fit on my wrist. Thinking of swapping to a AP Offshore Diver for that chunky dive-watch type of watch. Would you recommend AP over SD4K? I assume you pick the AP rather than SD4K and that is why you're not using it?

You have the budget, the materials, but are only scratching the surface in terms of actual proper watchmaking. From what you said re the Sub, I also gather that you don’t really need a watch that is tougher than the DJ or the Daytona. So I would say:

Keep: DJ for sentimental reasons, the Lange (such an underrated beauty), the Daytona (same color scheme as the DD but cooler) and the AP, which while a bit gauche, is kinda cool.

Drop: The others.

Purchase: something good and a bit complicated like a 5170p or something excellent but simple by either Kari or Rexhep.
