Assistance with ID of ladies datejust

I bought a used ladies for my wife about 10 years ago. It is a 1989 69178 sapphire. I wanted to update my insurance info and was told by 2 traders that the bezel and bracelet - vs quality and better diamonds - were aftermarket. I dont have papers and was sold by a Bosnian lady.

I found a sticky on here about diamond bezels and the count is per rolex and all the aftermkt ones I have found pics of never have the 40 count.

Does anyone know about womens' watches? this forum seems to be more of a guys' site.

I put good pics up on dropbox link. Thanks for any help!

Not a lot of people are willing to open random external links for security reasons. Why not make the effort to use the free photo posting here at TRF?

Depending on who is your insurer, whether you have a replacement value policy, etc., you may be able to insure it at “stipulated value,” i.e., basically you and the insurer can agree in advance on its value in the event of a covered loss. If the coverage is through your homeowner’s policy (especially if it’s covered through a separate rider on the policy), check with your agent. You can’t insure a $10K watch for $100K, but at any reasonable figure, it may be one way to avoid the hassles of valuing it now and/or haggling over it later if there is a covered loss.

Agreed this doesn’t look quite like the Rolex “Octopussy” bracelet settings, but still a very handsome watch!

Everything was added after sale 69178 has a fluted bezel and standard band

Now wether it’s original requires removal of the bezel

Band is a standard reference number

Ok great thanks! I will take the bezel off. So would the band have been drilled to mount the diamonds??
