Great collection - always love to see some variety.

What was the main reason for the Speedmaster not lasting? I love the story of the watch more than the watch itself I think!

Please keep this post updated with more incomings

It was a chore to wear and I never found myself grabbing it. It was tough to wind and 42mm is a bit big for me. It’s a great watch though on a great bracelet. I’m hoping for a 321 Speedmaster allocation but am not terribly optimistic that my AD will come through.

I don't see why you would ever wear a speed master with this collection. Bye bye speedy. Wow!

I’m contemplating the Gronefeld remontoire in steel. I haven’t tried one on in person. How is the wearability of yours? I tried on the Gronefeld Principia several months ago and it seemed to wear a bit heavier than I anticipated. Any positives/negatives about the remontoire you care to share?

It’s quite wearable at just under 40mm. I can’t say that it gets the wrist time that it deserves as at work I prefer to wear a watch with a date but every time it’s on my wrist I appreciate it. And you can flip it around and get lost in the movement for quite a long time. I much prefer it to the principia as the Remontoire complication sets it apart from other pieces.

The challenge is finding one! They’re completely sold out and the preowned market is quite limited as they only made 188 Remontoire movements total in all metals.

This is a beautiful collection. One to be proud of. I will post my updated collection in about a year after a few FPJs that are on order come in. I'm down to like 5 watches right now! Haha. I thought I was near done a year ago, and then the FPJ bug bit hard. Damnit!

- PP 5320g
- PP 5711/1a
- PP 5167a
- F.P. Journe Octa Automatique Reserve
- Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire
- Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary
- Rolex 116610LN
- Tudor Black Bay 58

that's an awesome collection. i need to downsize and refine in a similar spirit. FP, Grönefeld and PP make it special for sure

Updating my thread. No pics (yet).

I’ve made a few changes since the last update and am in the process of collecting one of my true grails. Will update once it arrives!
