It’s like some here have never bought beer from a check cashing place.

PBR has corn syrup in it, that’s just not essential.

Hops, grain, water, yeast and love baby. That’s what you need for good beer.

Try jacks abby house lager or post shift Pilsner if you prefer. My go to for a beer that tastes like beer and not orange juice or cream soda.

How cheap we talking? If $12 For 6 bottles counts then Two-hearted Ale all day!

I don't think one of Americas top rated IPA's falls under the "cheap beer" category lol

If it has to be truly cheap. There is only one labatt blue light. It’s Canadian but truly has become a buffalo tradition. It’s the can of choice for a bills tailgate.

That said, I’ve come to realize I’d rather spend $1 a can for a well made lager like jacks abby and ignore the sentimental aspects of crackin a blue light.

I was once told western New York was the only region in the country where an export beer outsold the domestics.

Since then labatt has actually set up an North American subsidiary here so it’s actually brewed here anyways.

Just how much does buffalo love blue light? Well they got the go ahead to decorate the historic grain elevators like labatt tall boys downtown. That’s how much

Beauty.

Good working class town showing their pride for a cold crisp imported ale from a loving cousin to the north.

That’s what beer is about.

I try to buy local and avoid beer made in the Big Smoke, but Steam Whistle is as good a pilsner as I have consumed. No rice, corn syrup or any other fillers, and you actually notice the hops.

My go-to cheap beer is Miller Lite. Modelo is a close second.

Billy Beer

Anyone old enough to remember Billy Beer? I bought a case in 1978 because of the rumors of it's potential collectability. So, to protect my future investment, I sent a can to this laboratory to validate it's authenticity.

I received the result of the test a week later with the following note:

Mr. Schwartz,

We are very sorry to inform you that your horse has dysentery and only has two months to live.

Sincerely,

It's been a while, but spiltting a "Bucket of Rock" with friends after softball was magical. That and Yuengling Lager.

Steam whistle is a great product! They were somewhat outside the box starting a "micro" brewery and focusing on a pilsner. Plus you can walk over from the stadium and get a free tour
