UEFA Champions League thread

The Atalanta vs PSG match was a thrilling finish, exactly what you hope to see in these tournaments. Who's your team and who do you have in the other quarterfinals?

* Leipzig vs Atletico Madrid (Aug 13, 3pm Eastern)

* Barcelona vs Bayern Munich (Aug 14, 3pm Eastern)

* Manchester City vs Lyon (Aug 15, 3pm Eastern)

So happy with the PSG outcome, they're the only team I have left to root for(I'm a Real and Juve fan)... While on paper, PSG should be very dominant, I don't think they have the experience and depth to beat Bayern, Man City, or Barca. Finals I call PSG v Bayern with Bayern winning.

I think Bayern is the favourite to win this year's tournament...

I am a South American soccer fanatic but I will take what I can in these lean times. I enjoyed todays PSG vs Atalanta game very much.

Well I support United but I'll be pulling for City, always want the English teams to do well, and congrats on the League, long time coming but you guys won it in style. I remember how it was for us waiting until we finally won it in 92, was worse for me back then as I was at school in the 80s with nothing but Liverpool and Arsenal fans.

Like Neil I tend to put tribalism away and root for the English teams in Europe, plus I like the way City play and I like a lot of their players. As a couple of posters above I make Bayern favourites though - they’re looking as strong as they were under Heynckes in 12-13. Otherwise, ABN - Anyone But Neymar!

I worked around the corner from City’s ground for many years. The amount of abuse I used to take as a Liverpool fan working in Manchester makes me say anyone but City!!

Ha, fair enough, altho I do think KDB is the best player on the planet and am happy to see as much of him play as possible, however the second coming of Cantona ie Fernandes is running him close.

Leipzig with the heartbreaker goal over Atletico today right at the end. These matches are closer than they really ought to be this year. Exciting stuff.

Big game tomorrow, Barça and Bayern. I'll be GLUED to the screen. Vamos, Barça.

Will be drinking beers with friends while watching Bayern-Barca today. Not a fan of either, but definitely dislike the catalans

I just got new TV service installed right now and I can actually watch the game on a few different channels now, and not have to watch on some streaming internet site in low quality. I'm flippin' ecstatic. Christmas in August.

So it was not a great match. This is a club-changing catastrophe of a loss. Embarrassing to say the least. Barcelona’s coach won’t have a job in 48 hours.

They’re sacking him now. A little more than 48 minutes.

In as much as Bayern 8 2 disgrace Barca, I’m sure they only wanted what was best for themselves

All is well when it ends well (i.e. Neymar crying)

Ha! Suspect finishing, albeit against the wall named Neuer.
