This watch is a fugazzi guys. I must admit that I have seen thousands of fakes and this one really got passed me. I truly believed that this was a genuine Sub and upon side-by-side pictures it becomes evident of the antithesis. Scary stuff. Thank you to the OP for having the balls to stand up to everyone. Even if the watch somehow turns out to be genuine the concerns that were pointed out were all very legitimate ones.

My problem from the beginning was the way it was handled, and the lack of facts. The OP has since been back and gave facts, everyone appreciates that. The seller has also complied and taken more photos, everyone appreciates that. I have no dog in this fight, and just want to see what is right done. Hopefully the seller can come back with some solid proof, and everyone can move on. If the seller was duped, then that really sucks. |

Wow, what an eye opening thread.
Thank you OP. Looking @ the pics does seem to indicate something is not quite right with this watch & if the watch is indeed a fake it's rather scary. At quick glance that would for the untrained eye easily pass off as a gen I would like to think that karanrolex1984 is a genuine seller who sadly ended up buying a fake unknowingly. |

Interesting and informative thread.
I think that under most circumstances, the seller on this forum would have the benefit of the doubt, but with only 12 posts here, I'm not sure that applies. I gotta say, the date wheel does look way off to me, especially in this picture: I don't think any camera angle can produce this: |

This is exactly why I am a vintage guy... far less (if any) fakes currently being produced and the ones that were produced are not very convincing... the fakes currently being produced of the newer models are getting crazy!

Agree. That is why I have sold all my modern Rolex and have decided to go vintage with my Rolex SS sport watch purchases. That and I like the look of the pre-ceramic models a lot better. And you have some beautiful pieces by the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The watch is fake. No more discussion needed.
I hope admins take necessary action for this. |

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/rol...9-2166266.html Here are close-ups of the horrible clasp "leg" fitment on the current watch (1st pic), and the other one he had listed on WUS (2nd pic). On the current watch you can also see that the oval on the coronet hangs down too far, and is not as elliptical as it should be: |

Another great reason why I would never purchase a Rolex online. I think I would have to meet at a AD and get everything checked before I paid a lot of money for it. Until then I would be to worried about getting screwed.

Outstanding job, Sachal!
After seeing the most recent pictures I can see that the watch is absolutely without a doubt fake. I hope I'm not being naive in hoping that the seller got duped and he honestly thought it was real. The date gives it away. I've never seen a replica that's gotten it right. Here's the fake on the left vs my genuine on the right.

I know we are in the weeds right now about the clasp's coronet and wonder what you think. How is this one below, same or different, from those picked from seller's listings.

The next time you buy a fake Comex for $100k you might want to rethink your strategy.

The seller obviously claims that he didn't know....and thought it was real.
The problem is how can one be confident it was a mistake and a not deliberate fake posting? The seller has been reasonably co-operative, but then it appears this is not the first occasion of a non-genuine listing if the statement about his activity on WUS is correct? I think a severe penalty is the only way, but its obviously not my decision. |

This has been extremely interesting to say the least.
Not an expert by any means, but that lume pip is the most obvious thing that immediately stood out. Great job OP.
