Oyster bracelet sizing
Hello,
First time posting here. I bought my first Rolex (Explorer II in black ref #226570) from an AD in late December - and I am in love with it! The bracelet is a brushed oyster. When the watch was being sized for me, they had to take out three links. They took all of them out of one side of the bracelet so now I have six links on one side, and three links on the other. When I have it on, the imbalance is not noticeable. Is it possible to have an AD store switch this to five links & four for a better balance? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you! |

You can absolutely do that! I’m sorry they did that, insane. Head to an AD and explain this to them and I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to help you out real quick free of charge, or even a trusted jeweler that you know won’t scratch up your links and possibly they’d do it for free or an extremely small charge.

Does it sit wrong on your arm?
My Polar has a bracelet that is much shorter on one side but the clasp is correctly positioned on the underside of my arm and the watch sits evenly on top of it. Moving links around has a potential to disorientate the watch but if you are not happy with how it sits you have a lot of options with link positioning. My advice is to get some good tools and experiment. |

I second at Raycover's statements. Curious to see if anyone here intentionally sets up their watches with the clasp biased one way or the other due to use case?

Of course it is possible. I don’t know why, but the SAs seem to prefer taking the extra links, from one side only. Take it to any AD, and ask them to do what you want. Alternatively, you can do it yourself. The links are attached with small screws. If you have a tiny flat head screwdriver, you can fix it yourself. The same thing happened to me, when I bought my Oyster Perpetual, last year. Both links were removed from the same side. I took it back, and had them redo it. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Welcome and congratulations on your Explorer 2.
Your AD will be happy to re size / reconfigure the link set up. |

As mentioned it is customary to make the “bottom” side of the bracelet shorter to center the clasp when closed. I always need two links removed on Oyster bracelets.
Wearing my red OP today, four links on bottom side, six on the top side. |
