Grand Central Watch in NYC - Service and Repair

Anyone have any experience with this outfit?

I have a Zenith El Primero Chrono and a JLC Reverso that are in need of service (Zenith's day function has stopped advancing/JLC is running a little fast), and I am reluctant to send the watches to their respective service centers (heard terrible things about the Zenith center in NJ).

GCW claim to have parts accounts with both manufacturers so that is a plus.

Thanks in advance.

The press writes favorably about it being a long established family business, but not much in the way of useful feedback about services.

Have you contacted Nesbit's Fine Watch Service? Depending on where you are in the Pacific NW they might be very convenient. My personal experience having Omega watches serviced there is very favorable. I think I phoned Jan Nesbit once and asked if they could work on my Reverso but I don't recall what her answer was at the time. If they have parts accounts for JLC and Zenith then I would trust them with those watches.

In the NYC area, I highly recommend Henry Ly at WatchMakingProject.com

Henry has worked on a number of my watches, he does great work.

That's who I would work with.

My experience with Grand Central has been excellent. I had them repair 2 Rolex SS watches for me.

Thanks. Did you think the pricing was fair?

I am considering them as an alternative to sending back to the factory service centers.
