Depends where, your relationship etc. etc.

I'd expect anywhere from 10-20%(25%?) depending on the model.

In Asia the discount has been a bit deeper, in my experience between 22-30%, depending on the model. ADs are admitting slower sales in recent months.

In Wempe in Paris, they were giving 0 discount on a datograph perpetual, so 0% off on a 130.300 euros watch, because "it is so rare that it won't loose any value", according to the saleslady... LMFAO when you see prices on chrono24...

You should be aiming for $16.5K for the 233.026 you mentioned in your Patek vs Lange thread.
One listed by a HK seller on C24 is $200 lower, but then you’ve insured shipping and import duty due to value and PM.
If you can find out what those are, then that’d give you a firm target price to try to achieve.
Presumably you’ll be looking to buy out of State, to save on the sale tax.

Welp, here is the latest... I think I'm leaning in a certain direction.

I can get a new 1815 for 30% off with a free extra strap thrown in from an AD.
or
I can buy used 45% off... although in good condition, for me to feel good about the watch I would want a complete overhaul (2 months wait) & a new strap as the original is shot.

So after everything is said and done, there is about a $2K difference... for that extra $2K I'm think Ima enjoy myself a BNIB Lange...

If you can absorb the 2k then rock on and go for it! If you decide to sell it later on dont plan on getting much more than 15-16k in my experience.

Agreed. Buying the used one is the fiscally smart choice... but this will be the most "high end" watch I've ever purchased in my life. I want to enjoy the experience.

If I purchased the used on, I'd have to send it off for service and be without it for 6-8 weeks. No fun, kind a bummer actually...

And from all my research and all the AD's I've spoken to, 30% off and a free strap is an "insane deal" and I should "take it and run" because they "wouldn't touch it". - makes me feel pretty good.

Depends very much on the specific watch and where you're based - in the UK it's very difficult to get more than 5% off the "popular" rose gold Lange 1, but a fair bit more is possible for the platinum Grand Lange 1 for example.

Decent Discount from A. Lange Dealer ?

Just the VAT refund alone is 5% if you purchase from Asia, add that to a 32-33% discount off MSRP and it's a deal that can absorb a bit of the hit when it comes to resale. And yes, this does apply to popular models as well.

30% is a decent discount, but I have seen 35% discount offered in certain dealerships here in HK.

And yes if that's the discount get new for sure. It's so much more trustworthy and in the end having a brand new watch does feel better than getting used, it's not just the experience of being served by the AD, you know the entire history of the watch from cradle to the grave, and need not worry about the couch habits of the previous owner.
