I don't know why it took me so long to think of bringing this one up, but my DJ's got absolutely no glow whatsoever. I've put it right under all kinds of lights, but I just can't see any of the Luminova markers in the dark.

Should I get the RSC to sort that one out, or are DJs just like that?

That was my first thought, the age. Besides you have that very studly SD for the glow in your life mate!! :-)

Try sunlight (or a full-spectrum light bulb). My wife's mid-size YM suffers from weak response to fluorescent and incandescent light but glows nicely after exposure to sunlight.

I have the same problem with my DJs. Do you think the luminova is shot on them? Do you think I should get them re-lumed?

Ed, I think due to the small amount of luminova used on the DJ it's just plain to see anyway but, I really do think there is a were out date where the chemicals no longer react to light.

I've got to check the certificate, but it was made in either 1996 or 1997. I've tried all manner of light - bright sunlight, tungsten bulb and flourescent. No joy.

Hi, fellas. I signed up here a while ago, but there was no activity. Now that the action has heated up, I'll join it.

From I've read, the luminescense of Luminova lasts about 10 years. After that, it might still glow, will require more light and glow for a shorter period.

My wife's YM is from 1996 or 1997, and it does not respond to fluorescent light at all, moderately to incandescent, and very well to sunlight. I always tease her that her Rolex is obviously fake.

This past March we were in Chichen Itza, and the strong sun had charged the Luminova on her watch nicely. When I pointed it out to her on the ride back to Cancun, she was overjoyed. Then I showed her how brightly the Luminova on my TT Sub was glowing.

My YM glows like a torch and the SD is not too bad, but everyone is right, with age it starts to lessen a bunch.

James I already told you, the SD for glow the DJ for the simple beauty of it.
