New Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Control Calendar

Does anyone have experience with this piece? I always respect this brand but don't own any today. Wondering how reliable it is as a brand. I think they have 8 years warranty now which helps to build more confidence

I have the prior generation and it’s awesome. I believe this one has the new movement with a longer power reserve. I can only imagine it being better. Congrats in advance.

Thanks. I haven't decided if I would purchase it yet. From an AD do you ask for discount on JLC usually?

Yeah. You could easily ask for a 10-20% discount.

JLC are dynamite watches. One point to note from my experience: the type of steel mine were made from was more malleable than one might expect. No issue if you're not the sort who knocks watches around, but just something to watch for if changes straps, etc.

This new model you're looking at is really cool, I think. A proper, traditional triple-date moon phase.

I also had the previous generation and traded it for a perpetual calendar. Great piece, but make sure you see it before buying. The previous model in SS was difficult to read because of lack of contrast between the hands and the dial. As stated above discounts from AD run 10-20%.

Agree totally with the way it’s hard to read due to the lack of contrast on the SS piece.

Hence I went with the meteorite.

I had this version years ago and regret selling it. Just may have to pick up another.

I owned a JLC SS MUT Moon. Beautiful watch, but silver hands on a silver watch was difficult to read. It later figured in a trade for a Patek Calatrava.

I currently own a JLC Reverso Duo, which I adore. The AD offered over 20% off. I told him to hold it while I thought about it, went out to lunch with my wife, went back and bought it. Have owned it for a few years, problem free.

One last thought. Unless you wear it everyday, it is a bit of a pain to set day, date, etc.
But if you like it, it is a beautiful watch.

I have jlc master compressor and I can definitely say their quality and reliability is even higher than Rolex. Their new master control line is getting better and more consistent

JLC knocked it out of the park with the offerings this year. I love the new 8 year warranty and would not think twice about the purchase of either the calendar or the chrono from the new Master lineup.

I have two JLC watches - Master Compressor and Master Control Date. Love both of them. Both keep really good time and are incredible watches. I have a perpetual calendar lined up for one of my next watches.

I love this piece. If I was in the market for a dressy watch I’d have that in a minute.
