I'm in a panic because I have never seen a Montblanc cigar holder. Maybe I just missed the bus, but that's too cool. I'm going to look at an upgrade from the larger leather ones I have. They work great, but that looks awesome!

Thanks Rob, this is one I've been looking for and waiting for quite some time.
There was recently an auction of one of these at an international auction house and the pen sold for about $1200, plus postage, and taxes, which would have put it close to $1500 all up with insurance. I got this one in mint condition for less than 1/2 that price, so man I am really feeling lucky with this one. And the pen and pen case are 100% mint never used. The pen case is what this pen is really about, it looks so cool, the inside of the lid is silk and velvet lined and so is the cigar case, really professionally made with a high degree of detail.

Wow! That is amazing! I didn't even know something like this existed! You had me at the bratwurst...
But glad I made it through dessert, to finally get to see something like this. Congratulations, Steve! That is awesome!

Thanks guys
The pen has a medium nib. A bit too fine for my style, but I didn't really buy this for the pen, you see I already have my OBBB nib 149.

While a "medium" is a bit to heavy for me, I'm sure I might be able to suffer through.

Guys this set was release in 2005 and called Montblanc Unicef Andre Putman limited edition. My belief is that there are 4810 of these pen cases made each accompanying a 149 pen. The pen is a standard 149 but the cases are the cool part. During that year they also released 2 other Unicef limited editions for the 149, similar concept - the case is the special thing - Helmut Jahn and Tom Sachs. The Jahn case is a glass case and the Tom Sachs is a paper case that is painted by the artist individually.
Congratulations Steve for scoring this. They don't come to the market often. |

Thanks for the information. I would love (but know it is rare) to come by one of these 149's.

WOW great pen, case and story. The fact that you got it for a great price is just bonus!
Are you going to ink it or keep it as unused?

Stevo, congrats on fine looking MB Unicef 149.
Come to think of it you did post poll of "which Unicef 149?" last year and 60% voted for Putman.
