Any one bought watches from Singapore??

Hi Guys... need some help here.
Two of my close friends are in Singapore right now.
They are looking to buy 2 watches... thinking Omega and Breitling...
Could some native singaporean give me some pointers as to which watch store may be the best?? How much discount could be expected? is 20%-25% realistic?
Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Have them buy it from a AD for authentication or they may end up with a fake and then they are...........................

Lol... definitely... I know better then to tell them to buy watches from street vendors.
I am looking for any good suggestions to ADs that are flexible to pricing?
How much discount is considered reasonable in Singapore?

Ok my friend at work who was born in Singapore said to go to 'Peninsula shopping centre' now it must be the shopping centre and not the plaza! He has purchased about 15 watches over the past 20 or so years from them, (he goes home every year, sometimes twice:p) it's on Coleman street, if that helps, he just can't remember the name of the AD there but highly recommends them. On omegas they give a rough 10% without bargaining, or so he rekons. Anyways happy hunting :) let us know what they get and of course pictures :D

Very timely post for me as I'll be in Singapore in a couple of weeks. If anyone has names, addresses, and contact persons of AD's there, please post. Many thanks!

You can't go wrong with Sincere Watch Company or if you got more money to waste than goto The Hour Glass. I think these 2 ADs have at least 5 shops along Orchard Rd.
BTW, you can only claim approx 5.5% back at the airport. They have lots of processing fees

Yes the hour glass is a very reliable dealer and you can find them at Orchard street and at the first floor of the lucky plaza.. I have been there several times..

That dealer he's talking about must be Lee Chay. They were the first Rolex dealer in Singapore and have been in business for the past 30 years.

You can probably do 20-25% easy in the US, PLUS purchase out of state and save on sales tax.

So what is the benefit in buying in Singapore? Is it possible to save more than 30% to make it worth it?

They can flexible on pricing but u have to know your price too. Stay away from Hour Glass and possibly Dicksons.

FYI Lee Chay is not a Breitling AD. They are AD for Rolex, Omega and Tudor. Etc. Here is their number if it's any help. +65(633) 600-08

I have visited Singapore several times and visited the AD's on Orchard Road along with a pre-owned dealer called "Peng Kwee" in Lucky Plaza. Peng Kwee had a great selection of pre-owned, but I did not find prices to be "a bargain" by any means. Staff in the Singapore AD's were professional and helpful.
