Beautiful!
Fort lauderdale/ miami- good& bad parts, I usually don't stray into the bad areas while not working, but I've never encountered any issues.
In S.E. London, I had several young types approach me as I left a pub (hermits cave on Camberwell church st) and ask me "are you a cop?", I answered "what do you think?" (I am , in the US). I don't know if it was a simple question or they were looking for an easy mark..
I spend some time in Accra, Ghana W. Africa, where my wife owns a house, Never any trouble there, and I definitely "stick out"

Cool. I was meant to go there last year (all fell through 6 hours before I was due to get on the plane) and I must admit it is the only place I've ever been headed to where I thought about not wearing a good watch. I now stand corrected!
I guess I was guilty of thinking "West Africa... 'wealthy' White foreigner, Rolex watch, hmmm...." but I'm glad to hear I'd have been wrong!

Paris- not safe
Vienna- seems very safe

Currently working in Zug, switzerland- probably the safest place i have ever been. eg no one locks their bikes outside shopping centers lol, its a great place!

It's pretty safe where I live in NY, obviously some less desirable parts, but I never had a problem yet in my travels.....besides I'm not a small guy, I don't get messed with too often.

Hi All,

I live in Miami, and I feel safe wearing my Rolex. There are good and bad parts in Miami, as in most cities, so common sense is your best friend. However, as you guys may imagine from Miami's reputation, there is a lot of flashy bling around here (cars, boats, jewelry, etc), so I feel that my SS sub (16610) is pretty understated when I'm walking around, and I like it that way.

Sincerely,

Clocker Bob

Don't the military and police have control of the country now and also Egypt in genral is safe. People really hate criminals this isnt the west. alot of times the police are there to protect the criminals from the locals. when some one screams "harame"(thief).Makes sure u have a good alaby if no one knows You.

I have worn my Rolexes all over the world.

No problems anywhere...!

But of course my lovely wife was with me so I think any thieves would consider their eyes more precious than my timepiece!

I have spent very little time in Paris, but my friend did get mugged while we were there. He said it was a very polite mugging though, the guy with a knife just went through his stuff took only the cash and gave the rest back.

I feel very safe here in Perth.

Oh also your watch if u don't mind."(mugger) " sure sure do u also want my checking account"(victim) "no thank u that's alright to easily trackable but thank u for the offer."(mugger) " anything else sir"(victim) "no that's enough for today, see u same time next week"(mugger) "no no I'll be on vacation same tiMe
two weeks from now."(victim) "also don't forget to wear a Patek or ap or something I have so many Rolex sport watchs"(mugger) "will do"(victim) "well have a good day sir"(mugger)

For instance, I live in São Paulo wich is the mos important city in Brasil and is very dangerous to wear a Rolex here. They have gangs specialized on Rolexes. What I usualy do is, I put my watch in my pocket and when I get to the place/building I'm suppose to go when I get to the elevator I wear my watch. It's terrible but this is how we deal with this situation. When I used to live in Manhattan I had no worries. How about you, where do you live and is it safe?

That is a bit sad. I remember that when I visited Sao Paulo in the 1980s, I was told twice shortly after I arriving at the hotel not to wear my watch if I was walking on the streets. Regarding LA, I have not hesitated to wear my watches for safety reasons.

well, i am sure there's been a mugging in perth at some point....kind of an over-generalization to say that paris isn't safe because your friend got mugged.

this thread is pretty funny, imo. unless you're living in afghanistan or a cartel-controlled village in mexico or some other hotspots (libya, syria), you'll find safe and dangerous places wherever you go.

I feel very safe where I live. Just recently saw an older very elegant lady all decked out in a croc Birkin, beautiful jewelry and diamond watch at the subway.

I live in down the shore in NJ, pretty safe where I live, but the town next to mine Asbury Park is a little iffy in certian areas. But none of those problems spill over into my town.

, I should qualify this statement, when I have been there, it was usually with my BIL (native,ie speaks the local tribal languages, although everybody speaks english it is rather rudimentary). I did not feel unsafe, but if I had been alone, I would have felt differently, I'm sure.
ps, If you do end up going, and your white, you will feel like a celebrity, everywhere we drove (neighborhoods) children would point and wave yelling "obruni man" (white man).
Some children (1-2 y.o.) had never seen a white person, several started crying, my BIL told me to buy some sweets and give it to them..they were happy then
