6239 swiss only dial but no underline?

What do you think of this dial? Could this be a service dial??

The watch is allegedly from 63.

Cheers!

Thanks! So then is this a rare one or not so much?

Also thought that early models like this one supposed to have cream subdials and no daytona text on the dial, am I wrong?

I'd be very careful with that watch. I"ve never seen SWISS and DAYTONA on the dial like that (the word DAYTONA appeared circa 1965 with T SWISS T) - the text fonts are not what I'd like see and there's something about the sub dials that I don't like - bezel is later than '63

Some of the lume plots are way off in aligning with the hour marker.

Recent luminova service dial. Here is another example of this variant in silver.

What is the asking price? Those daytonas are so popular right now, curious the price break with a service dial. Great watch!

I trust Michael. I weren’t aware of these. If luminova they are of course new if not redone.

Absolutely. I saw a swiss only dial with what I presumed was tritium. Hands aren’t new. Normally 6239 service dials are small red dials. Same as on screw downs. I don’t mind at all learning new stuff so no prestige at all from my side being wrong.

Yes, most of the service dials we see are of the "small" Big Red variant. The one illustrated above is a lesser known and produced variant

Micheal M,
Please teach me something. The ad says the watch is a 6239. But it has a black bezel. Would that not make it a 6241.
Thank you for your answer.

Good question. The watch pictured in the ad has a 6239 case with black 6241 bezel. This does not make it a 6241 per say as the case is not engraved 6241. It is simply a 6239 with 6241 bezel.
