Rolex 5508 lesson needed ...
As I try to learn more about all the Rolex Sub models, I was hoping someone could tell me more about this 5508.
I know it has a replaced dial. The hands look replaced, too. Do the hands look like RSC hands? What about the bezel? Anything else you see? Thank you for the help. I really appreciate the knowledge & expertise on this board. |

Dial, hands and insert are all service parts. Nice honest vintage smallcrown.

Thanks for the info. How can you tell the hands & insert are service parts, if you don't mind me asking?
On the hands, is it because of the length of the hour hand? To me, it appears to be a tad longer than hands on all original models. I'm not sure, though. On the insert, I don't have a clue. Compared to all-original models in similar condition, how would you value this watch? Obviously less, but 50% less? More? Or is it too hard to say? And on the inside, what things do I have to look out for the most on the movement? Judging by the other service parts, I imagine the original butterfly rotor is long gone. I appreciate your help.
