1601/3 - Possible Purchase
Hi all, long time lurker and recent member. Looking to purchase my first Rolex and after much research and queries I think I may have found the starting watch of possibly many more to come.
I just wanted everyone's opinions I know difficult off an image, watch was last serviced in 2011. It is a 1968 vintage with I'm told all original parts. It does look to be lightly polished but lugs are still sharp. Seller is a well respected retailer here who does specialise in vintage. Lume dots seem to match hands. Just surprised at how clean it all is. Bracelet is also original although is probably 2 links too small. Would love to see everyone's thoughts. |

Very nice. Case Looks well kept. The short bracelet can turn into a bother especially if you haven't built contacts for that sort of thing. The time to resolve that is now. Ask the seller if he can replace the bracelet from another watch (that's probably how it ended up on your watch) or source and have installed the missing links.
Second, ask for a pic of the gasket channel to check for corrosion. A few spots are ok but pass if there is a lot. |
