I've not seen the 5711 in person but bought the 5712 and love the timepiece. It's a keeper - slim profile, interesting complications and turning it over to see the micro-rotor puts a smile on my face.

+1

I have seen both (but not at the same time).

No doubt that the hue of the 5711 looked less attractive to me compared to my 15202st.

Having the 15202st, the 5712 adds some more complications to the collection.

PP is all about complications, so it's an easy win for 5712.

Tried both on multiple times, got the 5711/1A. And don't regret it one bit. Simple is better, at least for the Nautilus

It's fascinating to me how many opinions are equally strong for and against. Oth of these watches. Clean dial/simple vs boring/too plain for the 5711 and great complications/more interesting/love asymetrical dial vs too cluttered/hate asymmetrical dial for 5712.

Of course there is a fair share of "you can't go wrong with either" opinions in there as well.

Again I love both but the 5712 feels a little more special to me

Have seen both and voted 5712. Just marginally cooler than the 5711

I have been pondering the same question myself, and I'm leaning more towards the 5711.

I will always take an 11 over a 12. I prefer the cleaner lines

Between the two it's the 5712. Prefer the complications to the plain model at this price point especially.

I have pieces using 240 and 324, no preference as a user unless you want a central second hand or a complication that one or other offers - both can add considerable complications up to perpetual (and beyond?). Interestingly the rotor on my 240 is noticeably louder when winding than the 324 which is silent but possibly case metal has a bearing. Ultimate choice comes down to preference over looks and complication requirements.

I own 5712 - I have some other time only pieces on par with 5711 so I would keep 5712.

I had the 5711 white dial, sold it, and now have the 5712. I really like moonphase watches.

For the money, 12 gets my vote.
And (as in Patek) I like the complication.

The 5711 white dial is my choice...but then I'm biased, having it my collection.

Hey Gus, may I ask why? Sorry if I missed a thread on that

Sorry to the OP for the hi-jack, although maybe this is relevant if you're considering the 5711.

I have seen and tried on both, don't own either yet, but would go with the 5712 as the 11 would be too similar to my 15202st. I love complicated Pateks and the moon phase is absolutely stunning.
