Appraising an original 1960 GMT Master Model Rolex with Box & Papers

Pretty neat video I thought some of you would enjoy, the reaction from the man who owns the watch is priceless.

Cool watch nice to see the original GMT being appraised. Can't imagine holding onto something for 50+ years

I bet this guy never thought in a million years his $100 watch would ever be worth $75k. But the same can be said of probably everyone else who bought a Rolex back in 1960.

Those who choose to discard the original box and accessories, lesson learned here!

Unfortunately, the appraiser missed the part about the replacement service dial.

Why exactly is that? Is it because the Datejust has always been produced in large quantities and has seen only slight variation through history?

You can easily buy replacements for both and they would be indistinguishable from the originals.

Probably.
Market saturation plus many different iterations of the watch across many different watch brands. Supply and demand.

Maybe if Pussy Galore wore a datejust?
Maybe if James Bond wore a datejust?
