5712/1A-001: How many per year?

Anyone know how many of these are made per year?

Same story.
But I guess that if they did produce more, it may make them less desirable!

True! And they would be less $$$ in the grey/secondary market.

I've heard the same previously, but my AD just told me last week that they were told they would receive only 2 of each the 5711/1A and 5712/1A this year.

There are 441 ADs worldwide listed at patek.com. At 2-4 each per year that is not very many watches!

Well we know total stainless steel production is 10-12000 pa of which a huge majority are Twenty Fours. All the other models share the rest

Good for 5712 owners if true, bad for potential clients, prices on grey will continue to raise

Indeed

Really hope my 5711 arrives soon as fear in Europe things are just going to get even worse with the availability and grey market, its literally now or never for me.

I read on a UK forum yesterday that a brand new 5711 sold for £28K (Pounds) at watchfinder - crazy stuff. Only a matter of time before they hit 30K I presume. Sad that so many are flipped with no intention to wear.

I am not sure this can continue for long, sure they are great watches, but for a little more you can get 5726 used or other watches with complications or PM, at some pount or another tou start to think that these prices are insane and that you can get some really cool watches for the grey prices, at the same time when you look at the premiums on Daytona C it's much more in % than 5711/12...

I think it will continue as it kind of has the "Daytona" factor, in terms of it being the "must have" amongst the average joe with lots of money who doesn't really know or care about the rest of the PP range.

Factor in the Daytona is mass produced in comparison and PP supposingly reducing production which i guess will make it even more difficult to source.....

In the UK I think Daytona RRP is around £9K with some greys selling for 15K (66.6% markup)

I guess if 5711 (18K RRP) has sold for 28K (55.5) its a similar markup but Daytona slightly ahead, wether that 28K is a one off or not I dont know but its crazy!

I'm selling mine when they hit 50k, shouldn't be too long to wait at this rate.

Today my AD said that at Basel this year he was told to 250 5712s are made each year, and most ADs never see one.

28K from Watchclub for the 5711, and 5712 for 31K at WF, just crazy prices. You'd be mad to buy one and actually wear it nowadays.

I think there are 500AD they got 2 per annum I think the number somewhere between 1-1.5k both models except the demand is higher for the 5711 since it s cheaper priced.

I personally connect PP with "average joe". In my opinion, he current PP collection does not have so many nicer pieces in the ..let's say..sub 50k range.

I'm new to the Patek world but am seriously considering adding this model as my first. An AD has one in stock but is asking for full list. A quick scan on watch recon shows a nonAD selling one for ~28k in new condition. I apologize if this is against forum rules or anything but can someone advise what is the right price to buy this model? It will be my first Patek and if it just doesn't click, I don't want to take a beating.

For a first, go with the boutique.
Full pop asking is fine, as with any watch one needs to try it on.

New condition isn t new ,if your AD has a double sealed pay the full retail you won t regret,5711 /12 are sold w/o discounts these days.

I'd say less than 1,000.

If Patek make 10 - 12k stainless steel watches and that's split across 5167, 5164, 5711, 5712, 5726, 5990, 5960, ladies nautilus models and the 24, with the 24 being the highest production, it doesn't leave much to be shared across the other models.

I think you have to decide if you want AD experience. For a $5k discount I can see you going either way, especially at $28k. All the used ones I've seen lately are in low $30s k. For today, I think $28k is a REALLY good deallong as it's complete. Goveberg Jewelers has a used one listed for $36,950.
Either way you go, I think you'll be really happy with the timepiece. Good Luck and hope to see incoming thread soon!!!

I was speaking to one of the AD's I deal with and I was told that all steel Nautilus and 5167 supply had dried up and they would be lucky if they receive 2 steel 5711 blue dials per year. AD chains such as WOS, Mapping and Webb have closed their waiting lists for new customers.

$28K is a super price thanks to exchange rate, but getting it here from Liechtenstein...IDK if it's worth the hassle plus not sure what the import tax would be. And what is your recourse when you receive it with dents or nicks or other hidden damage?

I was happy to pay list at my local AD. The extra money is worth it to buy new, support local business, and build a relationship at my local shop.
