Actually talked to Rolex about this watch. They are happy to service it but it would lose the hands (they would be replaced by luminonva equivalent) and bakelite bezel would be replaced and superdome plexi would be replaced.

Would appeal to some but I'm leaving it as it is. I have these spare parts. I'm just planning to look after it and get an experienced watch maker to oil it every 5 years.

Yes I have the original bracelet but prefer the 6241 on leather. Remember the best movts were never inhouse. Look at all the Patek Philippe Chronos most are not in-house usually lemania ebauche.

Were they wiser in the old days? New watches are technically brilliant but lack soul. Maybe because they just were not perfect, but this was compensated by the degree of human care, creativity and effort involved.

Agree best leave as original as possible and any good watchmaker can service or get any movement parts if necessary.

Wear it on the weekend around the house at this stage. Will go out with it but only on special occasions. But all my watches are grails

Hi Guys

I have been reading up on anything i can find on Rolex Daytona Paul Newman watch models. My interest has peaked ever since it was announced a few weeks ago that Paul Newman's very own Rolex Daytona was going to be sold at auction in the fall. I understand that it will end up selling for millions despite the fact that the condition is far from perfect. Any guesses here?

also, can anyone suggest any good sites to reference on all the different models of Paul Newman Rolex models? i have already read thru these:
