Please...there are No Sub No Date...there are the submariner and the submariner date.
And for the purists there is only the submariner ( and the Sea Dweller XD) |

I prefer the 14060M over the 16660 just that the no date fit my smaller wrist better and I also found it lighter. On my white dial DJ I don't mind the cyclops so much, seems to blend in a bit better than a cyclops on the darker dials. I am depending more and more on my paper calendar and phone for the date these days. Life, like eye sight, changes…unfortunately..

I know I said this, and still agree with it, I actually went with the BB as my no-date and soon shall aquire the 50th LV as my Sub date. Which shall give me 2 watches that at a glance don't look like my GMT2c.

I forgot to add, apart from the overall nicer feel of the 14060M, the baton marker at the 3 o'clock position started to grow on me. I finally get it now when the other posters say "it has a balanced look". :-D

Simplicity is formal symmetry. The Sub ND is no exception.

This is really easy.
Sub vs. Sub Date Diognostic Test v. 1.1 Without looking at any source, do you know the date today? If you answered "no" you need a Sub Date. If you answered "yes" and subsequently responded with the proper date, Sub (no date) *If today is your birthday or a major holiday, retry test in 24 hrs. |

The Sub meets my personal ideas of perfection in a watch. I am amazed every time I see a Sub I still am excited about owing several Subs. I have not seen anyone wearing any form of the Sub were I felt the watch looked out of place on the owner. The Sub goes with any attire and the best part of the Sub being my grail watch is it's not a $30,000 watch and as such I can buy both the no date and the date without guilt feeling I spent way too much on a single watch. I chosen the no date on this poll due to the fact if I could only own one Sub it would be the no date. The date is nice and worth the investment IMHO.

No date! IMHO the Sub Date looks similar to the GMT LN and are both similarly priced. I would go for the GMT in that case. To each his own tho

I prefer the ND all day long. I never understood the need to have a constant date on your wrist. The time changes every second, that's why I have a watch.
The date? I check my diary every day and see the date. Even if I don't then it's a quick calculation. Oh it was the 13th two days ago. What could the date be today? I will make a comment though. Rolex made the Hulk, Smurf, YG sub etc. all with the date model. That could be because they can make a date model more expensive. I suspect however that they did some research into which one would sell better and the date came out on top. I don't understand why they don't have ND prescious metal subs. I mean all you have to do is make a new dial (the dial you have without a hole) and put a movement in that you already have on the assembly line. Apart from that, it's the same watch they're already making. A ND Hulk Smurf etc. would interest me a lot. |

Don't know what a "no date" is. But I like the clean lines of a Sub.
Just kidding I know what the OP means. There is the Sub and the Sub Date. |

I prefer the Submariner 14060m to a Sub date. I'll wear the Explorer II, 16570, when I need the date complication. I would also agree with earlier posts, which suggest that if you are going to own just one Rolex then it might be a good idea to get one with a date complication. In fact, I was amongst the "I'm only going to own one Rolex" crowd for years, and my first Rolex was an Explorer II 16570. BUT...then I joined this forum...and everything changed!!!

How can I change my vote? |
