Information on Date 15053 & 15223
I recently inherited my father's Date Rolesor, circa 1979. This is the first step into the world of vintage, and I am reading about it with interest.
It is a 34mm watch acrylic crystal, 19mm lug width oyster bracelet, an engine tuned bezel, champagne gold dial with matching gold date window and quickset. The model is 1505/3B I like to know what the letter 'B' denotes? On the internet I found a 15223 looking identical to my 15053, but I cannot spot the differences between these 2 watches. Does both of these watches feature the 3035 movement? Are they both 18k and ss? I like to ask for some advice to broaden my knowledge on the Rolex Date 34mm 1505 family.

The model you have is 1505, what's the serial. The 15053 only released in 1981? 1505 can be 14k/ss

There is some confusion on information I read on the net, I thought both has the acrylic crystal and 3035. Perhaps only the earlier 15223 then?
This watch is sentimental to me, I remember dad's happy face as he came home holding the box, and he commented on its accuracy the next morning during a radio announcement. I have all the papers, box, both tags and the bill somewhere in his house.

Thank you for your reply, this helps me in appreciating my dad's watch.
It is at RSC for a complete overhaul, I will treasure this piece.
