Hopefully my 2nd rolex
Gentlemen,
Id really like to believe im right on this one. Its been quite a ride in the hunt for my second piece and i think this could potentially be it. Just scared about it not having the box and certificate but it looks good as far as the pictures are concerned. Of course i could be wrong. Thus the thread. This piece is located 200kms from where i live and no rolex center anywhere close to it so its a bit of a hail mary once i pull the trigger. What do you guys think based on the pictures? I tried to crop it from the browser best i can because sadly the website doesnt let me save pictures. Thanks again all!! |

* does the seller have a good/stellar reputation?
* does he offer a full refund (no questions asked) if "not authentic?" * how are you paying (my preference is via credit card so I have some "protection"if deal goes bad). * IS THE DEAL TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? Best of luck. P.S. Have you also tried posting in THE VINTAGE FORUM here? |

Does it not look authentic? It checks most of the boxes that i know of when it comes to the mk3.
Its a no on the first two questions and cash. As for your last question its priced just as someone whos not very familiar with the watch is tryong to get rid of it. Almost half the fair market value i believe. |

That's too good of a deal to be true then. It's the exact thing you're supposed to avoid.

I assume you live nearby a Rolex AD or RSC. If so, I'd kindly ask the seller to make the trip, to the (On the pretense. That you will purchase the piece, if it checks out) closest AD with you. So that the AD may, verify the watches authenticity for you. It's a long shot, but it's the only way, that I'd even entertain this deal.

You are going to need much better pic. I know you asked for evaluations based on these images but unfortunately that's just not possible. Posting good images here is far more reliable that any help you can expect from an AD and by asking the seller for clear hi quality images is the first step in weeding out a scammer. Good luck!

Sad news. Someone doubled my offer. Its looking grim for me. Heres a shot of the movement after he successfully had it opened for the first time at a nearby watch shop.

i'm assuming whoever has the piece for sale is the one who advised you that someone made an offer that was double yours... correct? Or do you know this for sure?

Just because it has a genuine movement, doesn't mean its a genuine watch. Too many scary fakes out there and it just sounds too good to be true.
