Well how did this work out?
Did you take it in sans bezel?

I told them that it wasn't serviced by Rolex.

Ha ha. That's a good one. 👏

I blame it on the autoconnect.

Bring it in without bezel, Ive seen one come in here at RSC and it got a new bezel without asking too many questions. But is was a newer model.

I would not take a vintage piece to RSC for service.

Sent you an email Greg
I could see them doing that with something like a dial or another part that can't be "lost" but a bezel? Bezels pop off and am sure are lost all the time. Find it hard to believe that if you send it in with out the bezel/and or bezel insert they would refuse to replace it without you giving them the old one.

RSC takes unexpected #liberties with vintage pieces - Ultimately the liberties they take increase the rarity of versions of watches without service dials, etc. So that equals #highervalue #goodinvestment :-o

I found bezels on eBay for considerably less, but it seemed to me that letting the service center replace the bezel and then having documentation that the parts were authentic made more sense. Would you consider a 1675 vintage? Do you think that Rolex is still making bezels for the 1675 and older, or are they using nos? I have to say that the new bezel, and the general polishing that they did makes the watch look like new. I am really enjoying it. Should I feel guilty that the bezel isn't faded?
