Genuine NOS Rolex leather straps

Is this an authentic Rolex strap? I know that the new generation straps - say, the ones for certain PM Daytona models - are stamped a certain way, but has this always been the case? If these are of a certain vintage, to go with the "retired Rolex watchmaker" story, who used to make them in those days of yore? Were they also stamped "Swiss made" then, at any rate?

Looks like it to me. I had the exact same strap on a vintage Day Date years ago and it looked just like this. Do not have it anymore to compare the markings but off the top of my head it looks the same. Mine developed some great patina over time and was one of my favorite all time straps. Looked great on YG.

Thank you! I am thinking of sourcing it for my Root Beer GMT. Not as "Presidential," that's for sure, but, hopefully, it will look just as good as it did on your Day-Date!

Now finding an original true buckle will be the hard part. There are so many fake buckles out there its hard to tell anymore

Thank you everyone for your help in figuring this out!

The strap is already on its way! With the best offer option, I think that I've gotten a decent deal on this one.

I know! Whatever is on eBay right now is either plated, fake, or both. For the time being, I just have to find a simple buckle as a placeholder. I can certainly hold out, just as I am holding out for a bi-colored bezel insert! Pictures to follow upon arrival.

It has arrived, and I was able to source a solid gold Rolex buckle for it as well!

Looks great! Would you mind posting some close ups of the buckle and the stamps? Where did you find one?

Thanks!

Here's a photo of the stamps that I've quickly snapped; I believe that the buckle is genuine. If the collective mind of the vintage forum concurs, I would be happy to direct you to the source via PM!
