I agree. I wonder the wrist size of those who complain about larger watches. Tradition aside, some people find larger watches more comfortable and flattering because they fit better. Keep in mind, too, that the population as a whole is larger now than 50 years ago, never mind 100. Nobody seems to mind that pants and shoes are made in larger sizes to accommodate growth!

I also prefer larger watches. Easier to read and I like the feeling of them better

By the way, thanks for all the comments and feedback. Great to have this discussion with folks who understand the hobby and also appreciate Patek. Best regards.

I own the 5960 1A steel and i do like the new 5960 release. I would like to see it in real life. I have considered trading to get the older 5960P but may consider the new one (although doubt it would be worth the delta). I do not know if the new brown strap would fit the current steel version... if it does could be a nice alternative to the steel bracelet that comes with the current 5960. I agree that blue would be a better choice.. or at least offer more than one color strap.

I agree. But old-fashioned collectors are not more than 50% of the customers. Someone will be disappointed but most of today buyers they will appreciate these pieces.
But I don't think that this is a good long term strategy.
