To everyone interested in a Fayetteville GTG, please give me a few days to pick out a couple potential dates and confirm them with our friend at the local AD... I'll get something up by this time next week

Hey guys,

So I spoke with my guy at Reed's (Rolex AD) about a GTG on 10/29 (SAT), and he is checking to make sure he can deconflict his family schedule as he's usually with his kids on weekends. That being said, worst case scenario he said someone else could potentially fill in for him. In any case, 10/29 around 2pm is the time I am pushing for. Location would probably be Ansteads, a nice cigar bar in Fayetteville where we might be able to arrange a meeting room to hang out in according to the AD.

Thanks for your patience with this guys- once I can confirm 100% I'll make sure everyone here who has expressed interested here knows about it.

If anyone has anything they want to see from the new catalog (BESIDES THE CERAMIC DAYTONA WHICH NO DEALERS HAVE, LOL) I'll let the AD know. As for personal requests, if anyone has a Milgauss 1019 they could bring, I'd LOVE to see one in the flesh. I'll be bringing my BLNR, 16570 Polar Explorer II, 9411/0 Snowflake and FAKE 9411/0 Snowflake which I bought from a vintage dealer who is considered reputable overseas. If anyone has been considering sapphire case backs from Custom Watch Concepts you'll be able to check mine out- I'm very happy with their product.

I'll update again as soon as I have confirmation- thanks!

We're ON folks!

Here are the details..

Time: 1:30PM
Date: Saturday, October 29, 2016
Location: The Conference Room @ Anstead's Cigar Bar, 320 N. McPherson Church Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28303
http://www.ansteads.com/

A few notes-

This is my first time trying to organize a watch GTG, so please bear with me. I want to make sure we all have a FUN time without worrying about any shenanigans. Anstead’s is the perfect venue- I’ve been there several times before and it’s a classy establishment run by great folks. I’d like to keep this limited to those who RSVP via PM so we don’t have any random/unexpected people showing up to a gathering of fine swiss time pieces.

If you already replied here with interest in attending or if you've already PM’d me, I’ll reach out to you via PM to see if you can join us. If you’re just lurking on this thread, please PM me if you want to attend and I’ll add you to the list!

After a brief meeting today with the owner of Anstead's, he was kind enough to waive his usual booking fees for the conference room for this first GTG. The conference room will allow us to enjoy the amenities of the lounge while having a private space. While I don’t expect us to run out of room, the conference room seating is limited to 10 so if it looks like we’ll have any space issues we’ll deal with it then. Significant others and +1s are welcome but we’ll give priority with any space issues to forum members.

Anstead’s operates as a "private club" in order to serve liquor to its members, so please familiarize yourself with their rules and dress code. I'll hand them a list of attendees and cover everyone's $1 guest fee. Also, please respect their rules for no outside cigars and alcohol.

Anstead’s is also the go-to engraver for the Reeds location in Fayetteville! His fees range from $50-$100 for most Rolex casebacks. His engraving price is based on the cost of a replacement caseback, so an 18k model will run more.

A representative from Reed’s will not be in attendance, but since it is only 1 mile away, if anyone is interested we can make our way over there after things wind down at Anstead’s. Reeds offered us the use of their viewing room- it probably seats 4 or 5 people- and there are some seats that can be brought in around their Rolex counter.

That’s all I’ve got so far- please PM me with any additional questions and I’ll update here. I really hope that many of you can make it. There isn’t much of a watch scene that I know of in NC, and I’d love to be able to meet fellow NC watch enthusiasts!

Best,
s_d

I see this thread is old but Charlotte is my new connection point, much better then Dallas. I could most likely be there in 48 hours notice.

CLT is my main airport. I live a little over an hour away, so a CLT meetup is easy.

there's been some recent movement on a Carolina Watch Club, not strictly a Rolex thing but have been some talks about an informal GTG soon. Will keep the thread up to date.

I'm in Cary (next to Raleigh) where everyone is in bed by 9:30 PM

Finding Rolexes here seems to be impossible. All fakes or trash watches, stolen photographs from WUS, or people asking $8,000 for an 80s Datejust. No watchmakers. No jewelry stores with pre-owned Rolex.

I wonder if one of you guys is the one who has the PVD Sea-Dweller with white dial on Craigslist. I had a DLC Explorer II and I couldn't give it away so I feel your pain, PVD white Sea-Dweller guy.

One of the guys here in town knows owner and can get us a more private area, but it's no longer happening.

We're going to have a small get together in Charlotte 4/28 @ 7:30. Can PM me for location or add "Carolina Watch Club" on facebook. It's a closed group, but we post all meetups there.

We had a small get together with the Carolina Watch Club in Charlotte last night, no Rolexes this time unfortunately for this group! We had a several guys cancel last minute, but are eyeing something for the last Wednesday of May for the next meeting (have been discussing rotating between last Wednesday evening/last Sunday afternoon of the month so we don't perpetually exclude people who can't make weeknights or weekends).

Trying to put together a GTG in Charlotte for last week of May, potentially at Napa on Providence. Let me know if you'd be interested
