Summer is here in the middle northern hemisphere. Temperatures in the mid 80's, green grass, and warm breezes.

Month is March, March is the first month of Spring in the middle Northern Hemisphere. Where was it middle 80? Area? Isn't that a bit abnormal for the time of the year?

Arkansas (34 degrees north latitude). It's supposed to be in the low 80's the next three days, then drop into the mid-70's for a few days. That's a normal pattern here.

If you define spring as the vernal equinox, I guess you're right, spring just sprung last week. If you define spring by the weather patterns, it's getting to be early summer here.

EDIT: The crappie started biting six weeks ago (the definition of spring for many here).

Congratulations. That would certainly be a welcomed change here. It's definitely still late winter very early spring here as I still have snow in the front yard. Probably wait until the end of the next month before taking off the snow tires...just in case.

Oh... is it spring? Having the same (beautiful) weather every day sometimes I forget what month it is.

Years ago on the farm, my Dad had a shed full of tire chains for tractors, cars, grain truck, etc., in addition to the studded tires. Road surfaces? Signs on paved roads requested shoulder travel if vehicle had chains.

It was a chore putting them on for all the vehicles he needed to function on the farm. And then, as you state, couldn't wait to get them off.

Cyclone season in Northern Australia.
Normally very dry in the Central region but have had many inches of rain over the last week as a massive Cyclone moved closer to the coast.
It crossed the coast near the holiday resort of Airlie Beach at midday with winds of up to 270kph recorded.
Only minor flooding down my way but the folks further north will have taken a major beating.
