How long before the 3235 movement appears in the 36mm Datejust?

So as he title says... how long do you think it will take Rolex to implement the new movement with longer power reserve into the 36mm datejust? Should I let this stop me from getting a 36mm DJ soon or shall I wait it out for the upgrade ?

And the next question to follow: Will there be a price increase as well?

3235 might not even fit in 36 DJ. And we are not even sure if Rolex will discontinue the 36 mm models, though this size is classic. Never say never.

I wouldn't count on it.
But, you can count on the fact that the prices will go up.
So, if you've found the DJ36 of your dreams, get it now.

DJII to DJ41 upgrade is quoted 200$ for full SS and 250$ for Rolesor SS/WG.

It's not so much for having the new movement 3235, specially if you consider we are talking about 7k$ or 9k$ watches.

So when/if DJ36 goes to 3235 also, there's no reason to be scared by price increase.

The remaining question is about size. The smallest watch actually using new generation 32xx movements is 39mm. We have not (yet) seen a 36mm case with it, so maybe it can't be inserted in a watch that small ... future will tell ... or a Rolex watchmaker.

The new movement is also in the pearl master 39mm that came out last year.

The diameter of the 3235 movement is equal to that of the 3132 movement. It would fit just fine in a 36mm case.. or even in the Submariner. I don't see any reason (other than a Rolex sales strategy) why it wouldn't make its way into the 36mm DJ.
