Edvi assured me that they were the shop for the job (which I admit I already knew ) and we agreed to a fair price. Watch was in the mail same day.

I'm currently awaiting the return of my Daytona via FedEx and will post a bunch of shots for everyone tomorrow by noon EST. In the meantime, here are a couple shots Edvi took for me to display Beau's excellent work.

Edvi advised me that Beau took great pride in the job and I think it shows. I will know for sure when it's back in my hands tomorrow AM. I want to say that LA WW delivered on their one week timeline and were a pleasure to do business with.

More pics to follow...

The Submariner side of my brain wants to love this, but the Daytona side of my brain does not. A Submariner is a rugged tool watch for a hard working diver on a fishing boat, the Daytona is a glamorous timepiece for the millionaire playboy cruising his exotic motor.

The polished case and center links are Daytona glamour points that support the look of the glossy bezel and appointed dial. Brushing the case and bracelet feels like gardening in a tuxedo or going to the debutante ball in denim jeans, it seems disconnected from its intention.

Hmm... I like the look in black, but I don't think it would work on the white.

As for the PCL in general, I like mine (BLNR), because as the watch ages, they get "aged" too, with scratches and the like, showing a watch that gets used in the way it was designed to be worn and used.

I think this looks great.

I wish I had the guts to have this done to one of my Daytonas.

The black dial with radially brushed lugs looks killer, especially without chamfers. Excellent results!

I'm equally a fan of the original PCLs and lugs, however, but the "tool watch" look of brushing looks is worth considering.

Nice!

Definitely something would do, along with taking off some of the glare of the ceramic bezel (something LA Watchworks can do)

I'm glad this thread was revived, haven't seen it before but what an amazing job! Your Daytona is much more reminiscent of the tool watch spirit that older versions had. I love the modern versions, and have one, but this photo gives off a little stronger vintage vibe.

These looks great brushed and like many others both look like the watch left the factory this and possibly should have!

If anyone knows of a place in London or the UK with a reputation similar to LA WW please let me know as I would love to have my BLNR brushed the same way.

Guess I'll be the weirdo. It looks completely wrong brushed. This watch was made for pcls. It's like buying an S Class Mercedes and putting truck tires on it.
But hey it's your watch, brush the ceramic bezel while you're at it that way it will have a uniform theme, as is the contrast is confusing.
Just my opinion.

Great to see someone taking a chance and not worrying about the resale value which I'm sure has plummeted.

FYI-It was made with brushed for longer than it was made with PCLs.

I think it looks great!

Cool, that's why we all differ and have varying tastes. Makes the world a colorful place.. As I said, it was my opinion, regardless of how long it was one way or the other, I am aware of the history. I happen to admittedly be the odd man out and don't think it looks great. I think it would be real boring if we only made threads so that people can only say what you want to hear.
