Pepsi 16700 incoming.......

Well, recently I decided my small collection needed an injection of colour….so Pepsi it had to be!

Did my research (as you do) and decided it needed to be:
16700 GMT Master (like the quickset date)
1998/99
Luminova ‘swiss’ dial
Unpolished
Box and papers
Faded bezel
Keep to budget

Well I lost the plot and bought mainly the exact opposite:
16700 GMT Master (like the quickset date) – Yes!
1998/90 – No! 1988 'R' serial
Luminova ‘swiss’ dial – No! Tritium dial
Unpolished – No! Heavily polished with two RSC services, 2006 and 2016.
Box and papers- No! box only, but some owner history (inc a Rolex author) and RSC service papers
Faded bezel- No! new bezel, but having seen a faded bezel I much prefer colour depth of new bezel.
Keep to budget-No! blew budget

Came with a 93150 bracelet with a recent RSC major overhaul, so feels like new. Going to get a lot of wrist time.

Here she is:

Box and papers, you lock em away somewhere, shouldn't matter much unless you are worried about selling it.

Great watch!!! For me it is the perfect GMT. I had mine serviced by Rik who is one of the main watch makers on the forum. You can also pick up other bezel inserts to make it a bit more versatile. Congratulations!!!!

Looks like a beauty - great watch and you will love it! Often does not get as much 'press' as the later and perhaps more discussed 16710, but it is every bit as good and the quickset date is really handy. I actually have a 93250 bracelet for mine and it works a treat like your 93150. Trust me....you will indeed give it plenty of wrist time - good luck!

Beauty, congrats!

And I think the tritium concession will be for the best. Collectors mostly seem to prefer it and it will develop a nice patina. Much more so than the luminova.

Thanks everyone, am super happy with my choice.

I believe the first 16700 was not sold until 1989.
If anyone has a 16700 with 1988 papers, please post
