Wasn't one speculation as they were quoted ~£2500 for a dial change and service?

If the new SD in SS / blue dial becomes more readily available than a Daytona C, this is my next piece.

Someone checked with their AD about the cost and it's £680. They went in and asked as people were saying it was around 2k.

Neil, the intent wasn't at question but cost being incorrect and the scary results are why I called it that. No, all data should be encouraged; even more so accurate data. In a similar vein, an online seller is charging a significant up charge on the watch where as many can still walk into their ADs and be at the head of the line. The former present a much different impression of the desirability than the latter.

I guess my lowly sub nd would be in the low end of service fee... I hope

It doesn't cost £2K; see above.

Lee, I'm glad we are agreed on the main point of sharing and not suppressing info. My point is that at this early stage no one knows who really knows anything and what their credibility is, even this £680 price is still uncorroborated and was just mentioned by one member. The £2k figure was a shock to me and most reading it, however alot of members were also saying this was reasonable for the AC/GMT model and for a PM watch it's not that much. It's possible prices have been revised now it is in SS. But again its a lot of speculation.

So best to just take all the data on board and gradually a true picture will emerge, but the last thing I would want to see is someone buying this watch and then being hit £2K for a service, so I mentioned it as something to investigate further.

One does not buy a Ferrari without the means to maintain it.

Nor does one misquote the cost of maintenance if one wants to be considered credible. 2000 vs 680 is quite a difference. The cost of 2000 pounds would be quite a departure from the norm for Rolex. That 2000 pound number has had quite a ripple affect.

Buy it and sell before the service. Lol. Also, if the time is not under specks in 4.5 years you get a free one. I would think many are off a few seconds by this time but no one is testing them.

Going to AD tomorrow to try on the PM. See how it sits on the wrist. If it wears well, I'm putting in my order. I absolutely love the blue dial!

It doesn't seem like it at this point. Went to my AD today to try on the PM version. Loved the way it wore and put in my order for a blue dial. I am first on the list and they said late summer to early fall delivery. Now waiting game begins..
