5513 on "Real Bond" nato strap made in UK.

Here are some pics of my 5513 on a "Real Bond" G10 nato strap I got from Corvus Watch Company. This is supposed to be the style worn by Bond.

Corvus says that these are still made in the UK by the Phoenix company, an offical supplier to Nato, and that the material is made in Scotland.

In one of the pics you can see that he buckle says Made in Britain. I like this detail.

I would note that their price is higher than most nato straps, $39.95. But that does include shipping in US.

However, I like the fact that it is still made in UK.

I have also been impressed by the fact that I can wash it in soapy water and lay it out and it looks brand new when it dries.

If you wanted to REALLY be authentic...you would have gotten a band too narrow for your Sub.

Actual close ups from the movie show that the Props guy was not too swift. He put that patterned NATO on a Sub...but the band was narrower than the distance between the lugs!

Yours looks GREAT!!

Yup. Thought about that but decided if the props guy had his act together, Bond would probably have gotten the correct size. IMOP the 20mm strap looks beefier.

I simply love your 5513, it's beautiful!!!! Your NATO is gorgeous! What a nice thick beefy case, I love it. You made a wise choice. My 5513 should be here this week, couldn't check the US post due to today's holiday, but I hope it's here tomorrow!

I'm about ready to buy one from them, did you get the "Keeper" Strap" or without? Thanks!

Thanks Nicko. It is not as iconic as the matte dial and the gold surrounds probably decrease its value. Also, have always loved the bands on the earlier modes. However, prob. because it is a later model 5513, I do not believe it has ever been polished and it is thick. Original band has almost no stretch and the original crystal is in great shape. Wanted an earlier model, but am now happy I got this one.

Can't wait to see your pics!!!!!!!!!!

Got a black with the extra keeper but the one pictured is the G10 without the keeper strap. The quality on the real bond was better than the black one.

They still have the Real Grey Bond in a 20mm. Which is slightly different than the one I have but I am going to get one of these too.

What's the best size for GMTIIc in nato bands? 20 mm? I am going to get a Corvus leather nato band.. It is a little bit expensive but I guess it will look good on my GMT.. It is 190 usd ..what do you think?

Nice combo, looks great. I have the same strap too, and only one person has recognized what it is.

For far, no one has recognized mine. Which is the way I like it.

Ummm, I just read a PM, I think I know. But....I also received another PM stating that this is a mute point becuase the owner is no longer in the business, I thing he's in the business of making license plates, so.......should they still be off limits? If so, any alternative?

Pretty wild, unless someone gives me solid info, and with respect, this sounds like a rumor to me.

The PM I received was the first I had ever heard of it....I searched on line and couldn't find anything, if it's true, I may have to reevaluate my stance on them and source my band elsewhere....
