Seems simple and to the point. Hopefully they will do the right thing.

Good luck!

That's a fair one on the post Nicko, if it's gonna cost just as much to send it back, then of course it aint worth it.

Perhaps just put it down to experience and take a loss on this one, I am sure no one from this forum will now buy one of his straps and with many forum members using multiple watch sites I am sure this and the other threads about these straps will be referenced too and he will lose even more sales.

I am sure many of us have had similar experiences with other products and sometimes it's best to let go rather than flog a dead horse and corse your self even more stress over the matter.

Corvus have oviously been following this topic, so it may seem they are not concerened about negative press. As you say not good business practise for a small firm.

Not sure if I'll get any satisfaction from the email, I still haven't heard anything from them yet, and reading their previous post kind of shows me their stance. I truly believe they are sending out their old stock and waiting for complaints. Or, they only have one type of band, who knows. All I know is I won't be buying anything ever again from this company and will recommend against anyone buying from them as well...

No, they're scared of me

I think my 40 bucks just might cut into their profit margin if they reimburse me. What a sad little company they are.

Well, I was shocked....I finally received a response from Corvus, they were very nice and offered to replace the strap or my money and they said that they didn't require that I send the strap back. I have sent them photos of the strap as they requested. I opted for a replacement strap as I think I was sent on from the first batch, hopefully the one they send me is better than this one. I will keep the forum updated. Here's a copy of the email they sent me in it's entirety.

Quote:
Steven,

If it is at all possible we would love to see a photograph of your strap to see what the problem looks like. If this is not possible please advise us on what would be an acceptable outcome for you. Would you like us to refund your money or would you like another strap? We will send you a new one without the expense of a return if this is an issue for you.

We have sold hundreds of these second generation straps with very postive responses and virtually no complaints. We stand behind our quality, but if you are unhappy in any way please let us correct the situation for you.

Thank you so much,

Mike

Nicko,

I'm glad it worked out for you, and I hope you don't have any issues with the second strap.

I realize it's sometimes frustrating when we order something with high expectations and when it arrives, it doesn't meet those expectations. It seems to be human nature to expect an immediate resolution. Though the response from Corvus was a bit slow, they do seem to be trying to do the right thing. I believe most businesses will do the same if approached in a patient and respectful manner when an issue does arise.

Was I dreaming or did I see a couple of pix Steve posted the other day of the condition of his hour old strap? And Corvus made a post on the same thread also.
So my question is - if they have already seen the pix, why ask again?
IMO - the "ACE" occurred way too late and seems like they were doing Steve a favour by offering a replacement at no extra expense from Steve or his money back.....

Maybe I'm reading into it too much?!?

Who knows Eric, maybe they needed the complaint to come from official channels. Once the strap arrives I'll give it a test run, if it fails then I'll send them another email, if it performs fine then I've got a real nice looking strap. Let's just wait and see what the send me....

Hi Nicko,

I wear my work watch on a NATO 5 days a week.

I have worn it with this strap for 18 months in my office, factory and on site.

I have chopped of all the excess bits as they were just a nuisance. There is a little fraying on the edges where the strap goes through the buckle as the buckle is closer to 19mm than 20mm. The strap holes are ok.

I am too frightened of you to even think of recommending the supplier.

Tell me Steve - what would make you happy?

IDEA!! PM me your address I'll send you a few NATO straps. Not the model shown but good enough for your old Rolex.

I have some colours you might like but if you don't like em you can toss them in the bin.

Sorry about the poor pix, I just took them a few minutes ago and the light was fading. Oh God, I'm apologising to you for my pix.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm good, got a nice Zulu that I like to wear and It's very rugged. See pic below...

All I really want is what I paid for, a Bond style Nato that is both functional as well as good looking. I appreciate the offer though.

OK, update...(Sorry, forgot to write it) The strap they sent me was the same piece of rubbish as the last one! I didn't even put the watch on it. I sold the 5513 with both Corvus Natos and the Zulu Band. IMO, they are pure junk...

In one of the pics you can see that he buckle says Made in Britain. I like this detail.

I would note that their price is higher than most nato straps, $39.95. But that does include shipping in US.

However, I like the fact that it is still made in UK.

I have also been impressed by the fact that I can wash it in soapy water and lay it out and it looks brand new when it dries.
i think it was 18mm Nato but not 20mm.

Actually, wasn't even a true NATO, just a nylon strap...
