Submariner for me.
I know I'm new on the board but my understanding is the Submariner has no date except the models which have the date function which makes them the Submariner Date
So really the question should be, Submariner or Submariner Date

I like the clean look of the no date version. Can't really go wrong with either...

I prefer the look of the no date. Plus it was part of the original model. The bad part is, I spent the next year looking to see what day it was and forgetting it wasn't there. It was a little to get used to. Learned an easier way, if I look down and I have a uniform on, its a week day. If I look down and I have a t shirt and shorts on, weekend :)

It's ONLY about the looks and beauty for me. As such, the ND Sub. Symmetry Symmetry Symmetry.

Sub date oooor No date Sub

Gold 114060.....Basel 2014?????

I like the nice clean look of the 2 liner sub. If there was a 2 line sub date, that's what I would opt for.

I bought the 114060 about 2 months ago. It took me about 1 month to warm up to it. Towards the end of me trading it for the date version, I began to see the beauty in not having the date, BUT I NEEDED a date, so I bought the SubC date 2 days ago and haven't regretted my decision. The date version is by no means ugly and I do not find the cyclops distracting. I will say that I find the newer cyclops with the AR coating pleasing to the eye. My brother has a two tone blue and the date wheel is an ivory color and it does not have the AR coating.
What else helped me influence my decision, was I said to my self, this is a tool and having the date option makes the tool complete, and honestly, for some reason, the watch feels complete now.
You can't go wrong. Don't let anyone's personal preference influence your decision like I did. The ND is beautiful, no doubt, but ask yourself if the date is needed and there will lye the answer to your question.

I have both, but prefer the no date. In fact a GREEN DIAL/ GREEN BEZEL NO DATE SUB would be my new Grail!!!!!

Also Rolex thinks that the real submariner is the one with date, infact on celebrating 50 years of submarier they put a green bezel on a subdate!!!

... simmetry, but maybe they missed to put two crowns to get it more simmetric!

My first was a 14060 in 1994 and then I had to have a date, so I bought a 16610 a few years later. Still have both.

Easy!

If you want the date function get the sub date. If you don't need the date get the sub! (without date)

That's because they wanted to keep the real submariner true to it's heritage.
