Trade DJ 36mm for Explorer II 42mm?

I have been debating to trade plus cash towards the explorer II. Thoughts? Thanks!

Hey if the DJ isn't singing to you anymore then why not? You can always pick up another DJ if you have regrets. The only thing that would keep me from that trade was if the DJ had any sentimental value at all...

Agreed. A DJ isn't hard to find.

well if looking for an opinion I would much rather have the Exp II than the smaller DJ

Coming from a guy who loves the sport line and has no need for a dress watch so just my 2 cents

I am up in the air about my DJ, as well, so, if the Exp II grabs you and the deal makes sense...

It makes sense if you would rather wear the ExpII. This is what I learned, at least.

I just traded my 42mm ExplorerII for a DatejustII. I didn't connect with the ExplorerII like I was hoping I would. For me, the ExplorerII hands were too large and the watch is mostly a brushed finish. Each person has their own tastes though so go with what pleases you.

I'm not familiar with the respective value of the DJ and Explorer 2 42mm in your part of the world, but is keeping your DJ and buying an Explorer 2 40mm on option?

they are two totally different watches.... but I would definitely trade it. Can't wear anything smaller than 39mm. I would either get the exp2-42 (which I have one and love it) or the exp1 (if classic style is what meters to you). good luck.

I see nothing wrong with keeping the DJ or swapping it out for the EXPII. Either way, you'll have an awesome Rolex. Your call sir.

That's a pretty big jump from 36mm-42mm. That being said the explorer II wears really comfortably. I would do it !

Go for it; try out the Exp II and if you still think you could use a DJ in your lineup scoop one up on the secondary market.

Save for the Exp II and keep the Datejust. They are a classic and you will miss it if you get rid of it.

If the size is the issue then maybe but I would look to a DJ2 first.

This post alone tells me it would break your heart.

Save up. Will take a little longer sure but you'll be a lot happier.

Listen to someone who learned the hard way :(

Try on the explorer first

I could never sell my DJ for another watch. If you are not happy with your DJ than I would say do it, but if you like the DJ don't sell it you will regret it later.
