Black and Green Bezel GMT at Basel

I think we will never see a Pepsi or Coke GMT ll C. I think the GMT ll C will get a Black and Green bezel insert to go with the Black and Blue one, the Black and Green will compliment the existing green gmt hand . Green bezel green hand ,Blue bezel blue hand.NO reintroduction of the red hand ,its retired wish it ,Pepsi and Coke a bon voyage. I'd love to see a photo shopped black and green bezel? The clue to this change I think was the supposed mix ups of the GMT11C on the Rolex site ,I think it was a bit of teasing, not a mistake as most assume it was.

It's possible. I think they will hold off on releasing another GMT until they get on top of the back ordered BLNR's. JMHO

I saw that also...was not my cup of tea! Hopefully a Coke will be the next edification.

Possible.

I'd love to see the LVC in yellow gold or TT.

Only reason for that would be Rolex not coming up with a method to produce red ceramics.

I don't see the aesthetics in a black and green GMT.

I can feel the Pepsi coming. Probably in some precious metal, this year or 2015. This year hits the 60th anniversary of the GMT-Master, so it would be a great occasion to present something brand new about the GMT.

My thinking is Rolex will not reissue the Pepsi or Coke as they are now in the "collectable" market on a discontinued GMT ll model. Rolex seems to me to be very aware of the value in protecting and nurturing its collector fan base and would avoid anything that would have the effect of devaluing current collectables. Tudor slipped up on that front and killed the historically high prices on their used chronos but avoided the same misstep with their sub -reissues. Used Tudor subs have appreciated while Chronos have not faired so well. I don't think that mistake will happen again.

Rolex could care less about collectables, they will only care about sales...

I agree, I don't think we will see a coke or pepsi but a brand new colour scheme now.

Sadly that does seem to be the case. Rolex wants to make the watch as "new" as possible.

While I understand there are examples that in all honestly would benifit from an "upgrade" all to many great vintage pieces have been gutted by the mothership in an effort to make it look new.

One can only guess how many gilt dials have bit the dust over the years as well as RED and other exotic examples.

I saw a mock-up here some time ago and thought the green/black bezel looked nice. Could make for some interesting collections.

Red ceramic has already been done by Hublot. Not only is it possible but Rolex wouldn't even be the first.

Rolex didn't choose black and blue out of the sky. The colors represent the colors of PanAm Airways. Straight from Rolex themselves.

Black and green aren't in the history

And they represent accurately night and day. Along with pcls and easylink - perfection! If one wants a vintage pepsi there are plenty for sale. I just saw a coke on a jubilee at the Tourneau in Pentagon City. Mid 80s and they are asking 7000, lol.

Green is a special color for Rolex, and it's not impossible that it could be produced, but certainly not this year. The Pan Am demand is sky high, there is no way they would take away from that this year.

I think, it is more probable, a red-black gmt version.

mmm red/black blue/red would be mouth watering... but alas I think Rolex wants to let the BLNR marinate for a while before introducing another colour... don't want to take the wind out of the sails of a brand new colour model just introduced recently...
