Sub & GMT question
Does the SS Sub come with the same band as the GMT? Rather can it come with the same? Special order perhaps?? IDK
I really want the Sub but the band on the GMT2C has me on the fence. |

No, Rolex no longer mixes bracelets and I understand that it is extremely difficult for an AD to even get hold of a stand-alone bracelet..

Have the centre links polished if you get the sub, no harm done as it's easily put back to factory specs if required plus the sub has the glide lock clasp

Just polish the center links if that's the look you're after.
An AD will not and can not interchange the bands. |

The Sub and GMT come with the same type band, the Oyster, as do most other Rolex models. But the clasp and adjustment mechanisms are very different.

Weirder still, the Glidelock on the DSSD is somewhat different than the Sub. On the DSSD it offers true "on the fly" adjustment right on the wrist.

Until recently, I thought the clasp was the same for the SubC and DSSD. The DSSD clasp is really the mac daddy of Rolex clasps.

Have the Easylink on my GMT and the Glidelock on my SubC.
Glidelock is infinitely more adjustable. Don't know about the DSSD, yet. |

Initially it appeared that Rolex was marketing the names on its sports clasps as easy link (GMT, Daytona, YM1/2,etc), easy glide (SubC), and glide lock (DSSD). However, everything lately seems to have fallen into the "easy link" or "glide lock" name buckets.
