Submariner LV Y serial number 16610 T?
Here's the story. I bought a BNIB D serial numbered LV sub from a guy last week. We met at an AD and the watch and paperwork checked out perfect. The guy had 2 LV subs so I sent him a message after our deal thanking him and said that if he ever wanted to selll his daily Y serial LV that I would be interested. He does not have the box or paperwork to the Y watch and he states the serial # is Y620XX.
Based on my reaserch the serial number appears to be early for an LV. Should this case be a 16610 T? I'm meeting him again tomorrow to buy the 2nd LV if it checks out. Thanks for any info. |

What is it worth as a daily wearer with no box or papers? Thanks,

Every 16610 Sub LV will have 16610 T on the case.

My only concern is that he said he bought the watch in Cancun at an AD. He also had a 1946 Oyster 2 tone he tried to sell me last week for 2k so he does have several Rolexes. I still want the back removed to verify. Thanks for the replies.

There is absolutely no difference between the LN and the LV except for the insert, dial & hands and so buying from a reliable source is important. If you are looking for a daily wear, the D serial fits that bill. An authentic Y serial in top condition may be one that you don't want to bang up too much..

I'm nervous about the watch being purchased outside of the US and no box and papers to verify the LV. For $4200 if the movement and watch check out I'm going to buy it anyway. My Dad bought the LV sub and loves it.

$4,200 is a good price, figure it'll need a service. But still a good buy

There is nothing to verify its a LV on some paperwork only a green plastic tag with the bar code sticker. And afraid boxes or the so called papers {warranty paper} do not prove authenticity of any watch as these items are the easiest to fake.
