Nice writeup. Please post some pics..especially if the watch is well worn and secondly..not many pics of Rubber B on 16570 (am thinking to get Rubber B for mine).

yeh, great review. I am so happy to hear first hand that the 16570 is holding up in the field. I bought my P series a couple months ago, my first Rolex. I wont be putting it through any kind of challenges that a deployed pilot would but its great to hear how robust it is.

I have been itching to get more in-depth information about this model thats been flirting with me for a while. Your post has been very informative. I'm now worried about the weak lume. Is that maybe just something about your particular watch, or do you think its a general issue with all 16570??

Thanks for the review. As a person with a thinner wrist for whom my Tudor BBB at 41mm pushes the envelope, it's nice to see a vote for the older 40mm Explorer II which is my choice for a next watch. Glad to hear it's standing up to harsh conditions, following the Explorer tradition. How is the time keeping? My '91 DJ is running about 2.6 spd and I hope to get about that from the Explorer.
