Never seen this version of a 1680 MK2 red before

Just saw this posted on a dealers site and before I contact them to let them know that they have a questionable dial on their hands, I wanted to double check with you guys.....let me know if you concur:

Edit again. Agreed a few things seemingly off. Looks incorrect but it's a scary one.

The 'Y' of 'officially' is almost right under the 'C' of 'chronometer'... and the printing/text just looks off to me.

its not even close to the Mk2 posted above and I agree K, it just looks off. My Mk4 is exactly like the Mk4 above, no deviation. Call me old fashioned, but just don't want an unsuspecting buyer to get ripped off - but I do also suspect that the dealer has no idea either...

I think this concludes that the dial is trash - shot of the crown:

I did wonder if there was also a crown/Rolex logo shot from the top half of the dial, but then thought that it perhaps wasn't really needed...

Spacing, font and color is way off. Not even close.

Easy one. Belgium and dodgy Rolexes must be him.

Nice of you to let the dealer know Michael. Two days ago I called a dealer with a bad 1655, and I believe the watch was pulled.

Bad attempt at a Mk 3 dial in my opinion.

I'm looking for a mark VI for my watch and I recently saw a very nice "reprinted" dial that was spot on EXCEPT for the font/style of the COSC text which appeared to be from a different dial.

Another general "tell" is the date window bevels. All the reprints (AKA fake) dials have goopy black base paint and the bevels are drowned or invisible completely.

There are VERY good fakes out there, and with a dial accounting for so much value in a watch (and commanding big bucks on their own) you have to be super careful.

I have considered tattooing the dial pictures above on my forearm...
