Daytona 6241
Long time reader first time poster.
I've been scrutinizing this watch for a few days and have determined that the watch has enough red flags for me to call BS on it but I would like to get some expert opinions. http://www.ebay.com/itm/122030859367...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |

Let me give my thoughts and see if I'm on or off the mark.
1. The bezel markings are not correct. The white dots are not in the correct print location and the 120 at 6 is too far away from the dot. The dot on above the 150 is not correctly located, it should be aligned to the right edge of the top of the 5. 2. He does indicate that the dial has been touched up but the Daytona A font is not correct and the kerning looks off as well. The T in the DAYTONA looks off to the left. 3. I will give a pass on the pushers as plausible. 4. Balance bridge looks like it's from a Tudor. Once again I guess it's possible that this was done by someone during a "get it running" repair. 5. The 6241 stamping on the case back looks too high and I can't find a reference for the pointy 4. Additionally, the kerning looks too spread. Not being an expert on these I could be way off here. 6. Back to the dial, the L in ROLEX looks to be in the wrong place above the g in COSMOGRAPH. 7. I have no clue on the case stampings. |

The movement will need many replacement parts methinks. It looks like moisture has damaged gears, etc after it got past some perished gaskets over time.
It could become a money pit if you can't do the work yourself. And it may never be correct if done by less experienced hands.
