My next watch (first PM piece)

Hi guys,

I'm after adding to the collection. I was thinking of a Royal Oak, however I've heard bad things about the repair costs, customer service etc, so I'm thinking of giving it a miss (although not ruling it out just yet )

I currently own

Tudor BB blue
JLC reverso grande ultra thin duoface
Rolex BLNR
Rolex DaytonaC (picking up in the next few months)

If I'm not going AP, I feel a precious metal piece may be the way to go. I actually think I prefer white gold to yellow gold, although not to swung either way.

I already own the BLNR, so don't think a PM GMT is the way to go... What would you add next?

Budget around £25K

For white gold, if you like sports models, and not a GMT....I'd go Daytona or Sub congrats in advance!

I'm going to think outside the box here, maybe just a little, I think you have a very solid collection and I would recommend two watches.

1) The "safe" and "easy" choice is the Smurf, man thats a great looking watch and it's a sure future classic.

2) Here is where it gets interesting, YM 116655 (my fav). This one just POPS, rose gold is so elegant, the black ceramic with the matte black dial is so clean and the oysterflex is just incredible comfortable. The YM wears incredible due to it's shape and design, feels small for a 40mm by today's standards. It's just a different but amazing watch, like choosing an PP Aquanaut.

Smurf then flip the BLNR for a Pepsi. With your incoming DaytonaC, I'm not sure it gets better than that

The only reason I'm after White is that I'm quite young, and I feel people can think your wanting attention with yellow gold. If I was a bit older, I would seriously consider it, but at my age, I am not sure it will work

Go with a DD with a white roman dial. An amazing classic watch.

Smurf is nice, or 116618LB. In regards to AP, I have owned close to a dozen, including a 15400 RO (which I still have). No issues and always positive experiences talking to AP. Any brand will have a few issues, it's how they resolve it that matters. Heck, there's a thread right now about a Daytona C needing repair, not a big deal and I'm sure it'll be taken care of.

Try before you buy.
The PM Royal Oak 41mm is a winner and has more cachet than a gold Rolex.

I understand the WG feeling you have though. I got really into YG, then I started feeling like a nut going out. It does attract the wrong attention out in public during work hours. So I've gone the WG/RG/PT route.

Smurf is cool or a WG DD.
I started off with White Roman Concentric and switched to Blue Wave

Precious metal is nice. I have cycled through many Rolex watches just picking up my DD2 Rose next week, I have a YM2 stainless as well... I have a ROO new navy and a ROO 44mm Very Different, I would definitely go for an AP if you dont have one in your rotation. They offer phenomenal service, any AP owner will tell you... Get what you love :)

That WAVE Dial is awesome! Do you switch the dials on your DD2?

As hard as I have tried, I have never found a watch I like as much as this one...it could easily be my one and only!

I am going to say those are 4 pretty good options there!

Anyway as my fantasy wilts on the vine I will take a moment to live vicariously through you. I Personally ... would go either BLRO or Y/G Sub. Depending of course if you like Y/G. I would wait till after Basel though.
