Should I buy 5070G?

I have 5980, 15202, 16710, 2xspeedmaster and Daytona is coming.

I'm looking for my first leather strap chronograph from Patek. I really like 5070G but the price is more than double from the list price in 2003. It's also very hard to find a mint condition 5070G.

Do you think it's still worth to buy 5070G or should I save more and buy new 5270G?

You will love the 5070 but my preference is RG.

It's worth it if you love it

For me, if you're looking to stretch to a PC budget I would also consider a 5970.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your thoughts on the 5170?

I purchased a 5070P over a 5970G/R if that helps. I like "simpler" wind and go watches. I owned a 5070G and would buy again in a heartbeat. It's not that hard to find a nice 5070G IMHO.

No one could tell you if it's "worth it". It's a wonderful watch but so are others.

Well if we are talking about the 5270G with blue dial and without the chin, clearly prefer it to 5070, even to 5070P, really depends what you love most, I find the 5270 amazing in blue, would even take it over a 5970P tbh

the only 5170 that I would consider is the 5170G white dial. Either that or 5070. But then with 5070 you run with the problem of finding a good example of it. (Because if you are paying 60k for the watch, good condition won't cut it for me)
I went through this road, and the more I think about it , I am thinking DATO

Cheers

Price differences between 5070G and 5270G are quite significant. I love the 5070G (my favorite excluding 5070P), and is a classic Patek.

If you're looking at a 5270G though, then I think you should also cross shop and take a look at the 5970G before deciding. I actually really like both but definitely something to consider.

I agree with Thomas that I don't think it's too difficult to find a good condition 5070G.

I like 5170 with black dial but the case is quite simple. I like the step on the case and lugs of the 5070.

Thank you for your answer, It's remind me that I like wind and go watches so I should stick with 5070.

I try to find 5070G for a while but can't find unpolished one. This is my friend's watch, never polished. The case and lugs are sharp and thick. I'd like to get one like this.

5270G blue and no chin is the one I'm talking about.

I'm the same, the 3rd gen 5270G blue would be my top choice even over the 5070P.

5070P would be my choice over any regular production 5270 or 5970. Wind and Go is so nice and the dial and case are hard to top. Just my 2cents

Go for it. I've had the 5070g for almost a year. Absolute beast. Love it!
