Clearly that is a matte black dial with a gloss finish :)
As opposed to a jet back dial with a glossy finish.

Why gloss?, this is a tool watch !
Imagine a poor diver in a desperate situation with equipment malfunctioning at great depths, with almost no light, in need of a flash light shining over the watch and that light bouncing off that pretty dial (we want..) and then back from the glass and back to that pretty shining dial etc... " I can't see sh*t" he'll say ... Get the idea ...? Cheers ! J. |

I'm happy they spent the money on making a bracelet which is properly proportioned to the case unlike the DS. It flows so much better. Too bad they ruined it with a cyclops. Maybe they will release a non-cyclops version in the next few years. But then everyone will want the cyclops since its "rare".... Round and round we go lol

It definitely said gloss on the website on the release date. Not seen a pic that looks gloss yet.

Does anybody here know...
The previous 116600 SD4K was at 15.5 thickness. Is the new SD 126600 with the 43mm case the same thickness or thicker? Can you also tell me if the new SD 126600 has the same Clasp and Glidelock as the SD DeepSea versions (116660)?

The new SD has the glidelock from the SUB C, not the Deepsea. To my knowledge, there is no confirmation on thickness yet.

That's a big let down. The DSSD clasp is one of my favorite things about the watch.

If you look at any photos from a blog to watch or watch collecting lifestyle the bracelet appears to be set up just like the SD4K... Sub C bracelet with DS divers extension. Cheers.
On another note... just based on the idea of things... flip + cash 114060 (2015) for the 126600?? I'm thinking about putting my name on the AD list here locally... |

It's difficult to tell for sure from the video. But it looks to me a bit glossy. Have to see the actual watch to know for sure. I hope I'm wrong.

So very sorry to try to end this agonizing thread over whether the PUBLISHED DESCRIPTION is misleading us. My watchmaker was there. It's G-L-O-S-S. The guessing game can stop. And pssst, Hey Glidelock.... keep my name out your mouth friend. |

The website did say gloss. The Basel watch may not have the actual production dial that will be used.

So your saying it's matte? LOL Quote:
What Rolex publishes means absolutely nothing, I've seen them post many inaccuracies....the cyclops at 2.5x comes to mind. Once again, until I see it in person...pics look like it's matte (possibly with a gloss coating). |

I think it is semi-gloss...or maybe eggshell. And yes, I have been picking out interior paint colors recently.

Pictures show satin.
Don't care what the website says. A gloss dial will never look like that in the current real life photos taken so far. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |

Yep...at this point there is no doubt that the pics and video's clearly show a Satin dial no matter what Vaccarof's friend the watchmaker put in his mouth! That said, I think we are all a bit weary to believe what Rolex marketing stated or even what might have been seen at Basel for that matter, as in the end they might make slight adjustments before shipping! If we are really lucky, they will keep the Satin / Matte dial, and also add some lugholes to the case! |

Another vid where it looks pretty much gloss. Also looks more of a beast than I had thought.

126600 catalog said it's gloss finish. Satin finish on 116600 catalog.
