The more I see it, the more I'm loving the black dial. My BLNR should be very worried right now.

No. I was ready to buy one in WG until I tried it on in person. I really, really wanted to like the watch, but it doesn't make any sense. The styling says "dressy watch" but it wears huge. A price drop doesn't change my opinion.

Aren't they all two tone or WG/SS this year? Or is there a stainless I haven't found yet? (it's not a watch on my want-list so I haven't been following that closely).

Yeah, I found it confusing that Rolex is referring to it as "Rolesor" even though only the bezel is gold. Or maybe they always have with the DJ also. Like you, Adam, I don't follow these particular models too closely.

Stainless and WG is much different from SS/YG. Many thought the band on the WG was also WG center links as you did too (and I did initially). Hence calling it stainless..

Everyone that want a skyD need to try it on first. Of course it looks great in photos especially with a lowered price for SS. It's a thick watch .. try it on before saying will buy etc. in the photos it looks like a DJ but it is a lot thicker and bigger

Exactly! hit the nail on the head right there. Lets just say its not a watch for everyone and not everyone can pull one off either.

Does anyone think the lighter ss case will be less top heavy than the gold ? Just a complaint I've heard in the past.

Maybe I'm one of the haters however owning a yellow silver dial and rose choc dial I feel the as and TT ruin the line, especially with the stick dial and wheel dial color
Looks like a datejust ii to me |

The Sky Dweller has been on my grail list, but the chance of Rolex coming out with a SS model made me nervous. I was hoping it would stay exclusive like the Day Date and only come in precious metals.
I guess it will be like all the other models that come in various metal combos and give everyone more options.

I think it will wear a lot worse in steel, very top heavy. I have tried the pm one on before and it was just perfect. I think the weight is mainly in the pm bracelet because the head is hollowed out. With the steel one the thick head will be bobbing about on the light bracelet, just look at the latest Rolex Federer video he hase to hold it.

Intrigued but need to try it on. I have been moving away from larger watches, Sub C is as big as I want to go. Still prefer the 36mm dj/dd with flutes vs the new 41/40 or DJ2, so will have to see.
