Dad's Oyster Perpetual Date

Happy Monday all. Wanted to share the latest Rolex to join the Daytona 500 and the SubC.

My dearly loved and deeply missed father passed away last month and asked for me to have his watch before passing. The loss feels like an amputation. Anyhow, just wanted to share the watch.

P.S- I plan on wearing and cherishing. Do you think I could get away with wearing this without sleeves or would this look better with a dress shirt or just too small? What do you think?

Both options sound good to me (I have a SS Datejust with a black face) - looks good with a suit, or a Hawaii shirt for that matter (I wear both on regular occasions)

It's your dad's watch - be proud of it ......

Thank you. I would have thought that with 7" wrists that the OP Date at 34mm would have been too small but it wears like a 36mm.

Condolences - that's such a classic, iconic piece. I can imagine wearing it with a plain white T one day and a nice shirt/sweater the next. May it remind you of all the good times.

Watch looks fantastic. And with such a cherished history, it will always wear well. Sorry for your loss. Wear that beauty with pride. Always been a fan of 34/36 mm watches.

This is a great forum. Thank you all.

I have 7inch wrists and was completely surprised at how substantial 34mm looked.

Sorry for your loss, I miss my own father very much. The oyster bracelet makes it wear larger than the 34mm. It looks great! Don't hesitate to wear it for dress-up, dress-down, inaugurations, log-rolling, etc.

Dad was born in 42' and was cut from iron. Not sure they make them like that anymore. What an awesome generation of men.

I found something out that surprised me about that 15200 - it has a 3135 movement. Amazing that the DeepSea and the 15200 share the same movement.

Sorry for your loss.

It wont feel like it at the moment but you're so lucky to have something this beautiful to remember him by.

As for what to wear it with, I would say everything and anything and wear it proudly

Thanks JayB- Very true - I did have a very difficult time putting it on when my mother brought it to me. Now that I've had it a day I am remembering times when he had it on and it's actually comforting.
